Day 1: Arrive in Vienna

You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Dinner tonight will be in a typical local Heurigen restaurant. (D)


Day 2: Vienna

On your morning sightseeing tour, visit the Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and view the Belvedere Palace, Prater amusement park, the UN buildings, St. Stephen's Cathedral and other vivid reminders of the city's imperial history. After a free afternoon, enjoy an evening concert of Strauss' and Mozart's music. (B)


Day 3: Vienna

Take a guided visit to the Kunsthistorische Museum this morning. The balance of the day is free. (B)


Day 4: Budapest

Today, journey eastbound by motor coach or first class train to Budapest, often called "Paris of the East". The afternoon is free for independent activities or optional excursions. (B)


Day 5: Budapest

Situated on the opposite banks of the river Danube, the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked by a series of graceful bridges. Your morning sightseeing tour includes views of the decorative Parliament building, seat of the National Assembly; Vaci Utca, a pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants; Heroes' Square with the Millennium Memorial, 118 foot high Corinthian column dedicated to the Roman Catholic Church, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)


Day 6: Budapest

Sightseeing tour this morning focuses on the Castle Hill area, the 13th century Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion and Royal Palace. Afternoon is free for last minute shopping or independent exploration. Tonight, enjoy dinner with entertainment in a typical csarda restaurant. (B,D)


Day 7: Bucharest

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bucharest. Upon arrival hotel transfer with a panoramic orientation city tour. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)


Day 8: Bucharest

Get acquainted with the Romanian capital, once nicknamed "Little Paris". During the tour you will visit the Parliament Palace, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon and the National Treasure. Listen how the Romanian people finally succeeded to topple the last communist dictator in eastern Europe in the Revolution Square. Your tour will bring you also to the Romanian Athenaeum, the Opera House, the National Military Club, the Military Academy, Triumphal Arch and The Village Museum. Accommodation and dinner in a local restaurant. (B,D)


Day 9: Sinaia, Bran and Brasov

Your sightseeing tour starts with a visit to the 17th century Sinaia Monastery. Then stop in Peles Castle built as the summer residence of King Carol I. Continue the tour with a visit to the Bran Castle made famous by Bram Stoker's novel as the residence of the vampire count, Dracula. Next, walking tour of Brasov including the visit of the First Romanian School with an impressive collection of rare books. Farewell dinner with folklore show. (B,D)


Day 10: Depart Bucharest

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)
