ARIZONA INDIAN NATIONS TOUR

March, April, May, September, October, November

Ya' at' 'eeh. Hello. And welcome to the land of the Southwestern Native American Tribes. Experience their culture, beyond the myths and distorted image, observe open feast days and dances (traditional and religious ceremonies like those conducted in any house of worship), tour the museums, try the traditional food, enjoy the arts and crafts and share in the natural wonders. But most of all, talk to tribal members and get to know them as a people. This tour visits the following Native People: San Carlos Apache, White Mountain Apache, Yavapai Apache, Navajo, and Hopi. Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, often called the eighth wonder of the world, is located deep within the Navajo Reservation. The Navajo live in the company of spectacular free standing, red rock buttes, towering pillars, spires, and sand dunes. Mammoth monoliths and immense rock spires stretch heavenward from the desert floor. Fine examples of Indian cliff dwellings and ruins can be found in Canyon de Chelly National Monument. The Canyons here have sheltered Anasazi culture for centuries and served as an ancestral stronghold for the Navajos. The small Hopi Reservation, located in Northern Arizona and concentrated on three high mesas, is completely surrounded by the Navajo Reservation. Take a step back in time when visiting the homeland of the Hopi and experience one of the oldest cultures in North America. The San Carlos and White Mountain Apache Nations feature pristine lakes, the scenic Salt River Canyon, and yet another traditional way of life. This is truly a tour of discovery, history, mystique, beauty, and cultural understanding. Don't miss it!!!
