(9 Day)
Day 1 EUROPE BOUND
Overnight flight from the United States to Glasgow.
Day 2
GLASGOW
You will be greeted upon arrival and transferred to the
hotel. The remainder of your day is free with many things to do
and see.
Day 3 GLASGOW
Enjoy a tour by
motor coach of some of the city's important landmarks. These include the
University, which overlooks the sloping terraces of one of Glasgow's
many parks. We'll drive by Victoria Park and the Botanical Gardens and
other famous buildings. Free time will be allowed for shopping
downtown or a round of golf if you wish. Breakfast and Dinner included.
DAY 4 OBAN/IONA
This
morning you will depart Glasgow and drive north along the picturesque
shores of Loch Lomond to Oban, where you will board a ferry to the Isle
of Mull. You will drive
across Mull and take another short foot passenger ferry from Fionnport
to St Columba’s Island of Iona. Iona
the site of the first Christian settlement of Scotland has been known as
a place of spiritual power
and pilgrimages for centuries. You
will see many sights on the island and will visit Iona Abbey which is
the most visited sight and dates back to the 11th Century.
You will then take the ferry back to the ferry and on to Oban for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 STIRLING/PERTH
We
depart Oban and drive through beautiful Highland scenery to the ancient
fortress of Stirling and visit one of the most important castles in
Scottish history…Stirling Castle.
You will then transfer to Perth to see St John’s where Knox
preached and unleashed the storm of the Reformation.
You will have dinner and overnight in Perth.
DAY
6 ST. ANDREWS/EDINBURGH
This
morning you will depart Perth and transfer to St Andrew’s, home of
golf and named after Scotland’s patron saint.
It was in St Andrew’s that the Scottish Protestant reformer
George Wishart was executed for heresy in 1546, after
John Knox preached
in the castle and Parish church here.
You will visit the castle and the cathedral before transferring
to Edinburgh the capital city for dinner and overnight.
DAY
7 EDINBURGH
You
will be met by your local coach and guide for a tour of Edinburgh
including a visit to the impressive Edinburgh Castle, we will drive
along the Royal Mile to visit to St Giles Cathedral
with its Thistle
Chapel, from whose pulpit Knox spent most of his Reformation years
preaching. We will then visit John
Knox medieval town house which is the memorial to John Knox.
You tour will end at your hotel in Edinburgh for dinner and
overnight.
DAY 8 HADDINGTON
HOUSE/EDDINBURGH
This morning you will be
met by a coach and guide for a visit to Haddington, where John Knox was
born and raised, you will visit the gardens of Haddington House (the
house itself is not open to the public).
You will then be transferred back to Edinburgh for an afternoon
at leisure for individual sightseeing and free time for shopping.
Dinner and overnight in Edinburgh.

We bid farewell to this
Scotland and take our flight back home.
