glorious surroundings. At the nearby newly opened LOCH LOMOND SHORES
attraction, the "Beneath the Loch" show introduces you to the
area, and the thrilling film “The Legend of the Loch” shown on the Imax-style
giant screen brings Scottish history to life. From the 100 foot high
observation terrace you’ll get the best views of Loch Lomond and the
Highlands beyond. You might wish to take a cruise, enjoy a light lunch,
and browse the quality shops before returning to your hotel in the early
afternoon. Later today, perhaps join your tour director for an optional
outing to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, for a narrated orientation
drive and visit to the Burrell Collection, and afterwards dinner at a
fine city center restaurant. (FB)

West Highlands. Cross the mountain pass aptly named "Rest and be
thankful" to Inveraray on Loch Fyne where a special highlight is a
guided tour of elegant INVERARAY CASTLE, ancestral home of the Dukes of
Argyll, Clan Chiefs of the Campbells. Take a lunch break in the pretty
fishing port of Oban, gateway to the Isles; then follow the shores of
Loch Linnhe and head up the mysterious valley known as Glen Coe, where
the McDonald Clan was treacherously murdered by the Campbells in 1692.
Cross bleak Rannoch Moor and trace the shores of the entire length of
Loch Lomond back to your hotel. Dinner is not included tonight so you
can choose from Cameron House’s fine dining options. (FB)

More
breathtaking scenery today on the route through the heart of the
Highlands that takes you via Stirling of Braveheart fame and

visit to Aberfeldy distillery, including a guided tour and explanation
of the ancient art of converting barley, water and yeast into a
heart-warming liquor, we enjoy a stop for lunch. Next we visit the

"New Town" and famous scientists, inventors and novelists. In
the "Old Town," drive up the narrow Royal Mile to EDINBURGH
CASTLE to admire Scotland’s Crown Jewels, then explore HOLYROOD
PALACE, the Queen’s official Scottish residence. Later, a unique

optional evening. (FB)

This

neighboring Fyfe for a visit to the university town of St. Andrews,
whose Royal and Ancient Golf Club, founded in 1754, has given us the
rules of golfing. Tonight, a fitting finale: join our optional Scottish
