Day 3: Izmir, Thyatira, & Pergamum (May 13)

After breakfast, We begin our journey in the second of the Seven Churches of Revelation – Smyrna (Rev 2:8-11). Then we journey to another of the Seven Churches – Thyatira (Rev. 2:18-29). We’ll see the ancient roadway and the period columns. Thyatira was once busy center and famous as a “seller of purple.” It was the most favored of the Seven Churches. This was the city of the woman John calls Jezebel. The Apostle Paul and Silas may have walked here (Acts 16:13-16). And this is the place from which the disciple Lydia came. We then journey to land of Pergamon to one of the most fascinating of mysteries – to the Throne of Satan. You’ll be carried up on a breathtaking ride by cable car up to the top of the ancient high place of Pergamon. The church of Pergamon was praised for its forbearance (Rev. 2:12-17). It appears to be here that the first Christians were executed by Rome. We’ll visit the famous Acropolis of Pergamon, pass through the Royal Gates, see the great ancient library, and the temples of the ancient gods. Then you’ll go to the heart of the mystery, to the “Great Altar.” And here, Jonathan will open up the deep and powerful revelation of the mystery of Pergamon and the Throne of Satan. Our lodging this evening will be in Izmir.

Day 4: Ephesus (May 14)

Today, we embark on a journey to one of the most important places in the New Testament, Ephesus. Ephesus is unique in that it appears in Revelation, the Letters of Paul, and the Book of Acts. It is the first of the Seven Churches of Revelation and the site of one of the most dramatic moments in the Book of Acts. It gave birth to one of the most majestic Epistles in the Bible, the Book of Ephesians. The apostles were here. Paul was here. We start the day at one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the center of the conflict and uproar in the Book of Acts – the Temple of Artemis. There, in this crowning temple of the pagan world, Jonathan will open up the mystery of the gods, and we’ll declare and worship the God of Israel! Then you’ll walk through the spectacular remains of this amazing city – You’ll see the Library of Ephesus, the mosaics, the Agora, the marketplace, where Paul would have preached. You’ll see the Great Stadium, the same place, where the riot in the Book of Acts took place. And you’ll partake of communion just as the ancient Ephesian believers did – and by one of the earliest churches in the world.. Our dinner and overnight will be at the hotel in Kusadasi.

Day 5: Isle of Patmos (May 15)

In the morning, we board our cruise ship for a cruise on the Aegean Sea. We sail for a visit to the beautiful Island of Patmos. This is the island on which John received the most amazing of visions and revelations to become the most mystery-filled book of Scripture - The Book of Revelation. This is where he saw the angel, the living creatures, the throne of God, the four horsemen, the dragon, the beast, the false prophet, the Temple, the two witnesses, the woman on the beast, Babylon, the coming of the Lord, the Judgment, the Millennial Kingdom of God, the New and the New Earth, the New Jerusalem, Eternity! We will stand on the same shores that John stood on. We’ll walk through the fortified monastery of St. John and the claimed to be where John received the Revelation. Jonathan will be sharing the mysteries of the Book of Revelation and the signs of its coming even in the world today – End-Time Prophecy. Back on the ship, enjoy dinner before settling in to your cabin for the night.

Day 6: Optional tours to Crete and Santorini (May 16)

We continue our journey and cruise to the island of Crete. Crete is mentioned in the Bible and is the largest of the Greek Islands and the birthplace of Greek culture. Take an optional excursion tour to Heraklion and the ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Discovered in 1899 and partially reconstructed, the elaborate Palace is believed to be the mythical Labyrinth of King Minos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture. Crete is the island by which Paul’s shipwreck took place. It is also where the Gospel spread, and where Paul sent Titus to minister. Walk through the streets of Crete and see the age-old Church of Titus. This afternoon you can visit the island of Santorini which is perhaps the most breathtaking and beautiful of all the Greek Islands. It is believed that Santorini was the inspiration on which the legend of the fallen land of Atlantis was based. Take a cable car ride to the top and explore the scenic narrow streets and blue and white houses overlooking the sea. You may choose to take an optional panoramic bus tour viewing some of the most spectacular scenery of the Aegean. Travel through countless villages and settlements with delicate architecture and beauties eventually arriving in Oia. During your time in Oia, visit the many narrow streets, open-air cafes and glittering boutiques. Upon returning to the ship, we view the lace-like caldera, the little islands of Thirasia, Palea, & Nea Kameni. We arrive at the ship for dinner and evening entertainment.

Day 7: Disembark Cruise – Ancient Corinth & Cenchreae (May 17)

We disembark to journey to the famed city of Corinth & Cenchreae. We land in Greece and travel west with a rest stop and photos at the Corinth Canal. Next, we visit ancient Corinth, one of the most important places in the early church - the city that inspired many of Paul's most familiar letters including 1 and 2 Corinthians and the Book of Romans. It is a highlight for the New Testament scholar. See the Market Place where Paul would have ministered, the actual object and spot by which the apostle Paul actually stood, the place where the ancient synagogue stood and in which Paul shared the Gospel, the Temple of Apollo, and more. The ruins of this important cultural center are fascinating as we walk along the stone path that the Apostle Paul walked. Travel on to the top of the nearby Acropolis where our guide will speak on the worship practices and point out the bird’s eye view of what was a bustling city of around 800,000 during Paul’s stay. We will then go to the shore of Cenchrae, the ancient port of Corinth. Acts 18:18 states the Apostle Paul stopped at Cenchreae during his second missionary journey, where he had his hair cut to fulfill a vow. We’ll go to the exact port where Paul would have set sail. There we’ll partake of Communion and worship the Lord! Overnight in Athens.

Day 8: Athens (May 18)

We reach our final destination, Athens. Athens was the center of the Greek world and the pillar of the Hellenistic age. Considered to be the foundation of Western democracy, Athens was the home of Socrates, Heroditus, Hippocrates, Euripedes, and many more famous Greeks of the ancient world. We will begin in the Athenian Agora, the very same marketplace where the apostle Paul preached the Gospel – and where he found the Altar of the Unknown God. Jonathan will share of the Altar and how it led to Mars Hill. During our panoramic bus tour we will also see the Greek House of Parliament, the Athenian Olympic Stadium, the Presidential Palace, enjoy a visit to the Athenian Plaka with its multitude of shops and cafes. You’ll ascend to the acropolis of Athens and see another of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Parthenon. You’ll see the actual place where Paul gave one of his most amazing of messages to the ancient world. You’ll see and may stand on Mars Hill. You’ll have time to walk the Athenian Plaka, have lunch, shop, and enjoy Athens. And then we’ll gather together at a special place, where Jonathan will give a final message and where he will anoint you for power, breakthrough, and blessings in your life – to go back home for victory.
