DAY 3: Thursday, September 17 - Cairo

• Grand Egyptian Museum & King Tut Exhibit - This brand new museum is state of the art! It is home to the entire King Tut collection of gold artifacts found in his tomb.
• Giza Pyramids – You have seen the pictures of these monumental structures. There are no words to describe their majesty and mystery.
• Sphinx – It still stands guard in ancient Memphis.
• OPTIONAL: Camel ride (pay on the spot, not included in tour cost)

DAY 4: Friday, September 18 - Cairo Area

• Memphis – Statue of Ramses II – One of the most magnificent granite statues
• Sakkara – Step Pyramid of King Zoser – This massive pyramid is one of the oldest stone structures in the world and was the prototype for building dozens more which were constructed over hundreds of years which followed.
• Faiyum - Joseph’s Storehouses, Canal, & Lake – The remains of Joseph’s storehouses are seen in multiple locations. You will see canals and a lake which were part of his strategy to prepare Egypt for seven years of famine (Gen. 41:41-57).
• Cultural Exhibition: Handmade Carpet Factory/Store
• Overnight in Cairo


DAY 5: Saturday, September 19 - Cairo

• Alabaster Mosque of Muhammmed Ali – Even though we are not Muslims, you cannot ignore the beauty of this mosque.
• The Coptic Cave Churches – Located in Cairo’s “rubbish collectors’ district,” the history of this church’s growth will move you to tears.
• The Church of the Holy Family – The traditional site where Joseph, Mary, and Jesus found safety when they had to flee from Bethlehem (Matthew 2:13-15, 19-20)
• The Coptic Hanging Church – With over 100 Christian icons on display, this unique church was erected on top of a Roman gate after St. Mark introduced Christianity to the city in the 1st century.
• National Museum of Egyptian Civilization – Depp in Old Cairo is a new museum (2021) with 50,000 artifacts spanning Egypt’s history from prehistoric to modern times.
• Evening flight from Cairo to Luxor (1 hour flight)
• Overnight in Luxor on the Nile River


DAY 6: Sunday, September 20 - Luxor (East Bank of the Nile River)

• OPTIONAL: Hot Air Balloon Ride (pay on the spot, not included in tour cost)
• Temple of Karnak – Ancient Thebes’ open-air museum of astounding architecture
• Temple of Luxor – The likely locations where Moses would have been trained as a part of the royal family
• Feluca Boat Ride on the Nile – There’s nothing like a sailboat ride on the Nile.
• Overnight in Luxor


DAY 7: Monday, September 21 – Luxor (West Bank of the Nile River)

• Valley of the Kings – The royal tombs of Pharaohs during the New Kingdom
• OPTIONAL: Tomb of King Tut (pay on the spot, not included in tour cost)
• Temple of Hatshepsut – The Pharoah Queen’s funerary temple, thought to be designed by Moses to honor the princess who rescued him from the Nile (Exodus 2:1-10)

• Flight back to Cairo (1 hour flight)

DAY 8: Tuesday, September 22 – Transition to Jordan

• 2:30 p.m. Royal Jordanian flight to Aqaba, Jordan (1 hour flight)
• Overnight in Petra


DAY 9: Wednesday, September 23 – Petra

• Petra – This Biblical city of the ancient Edomites and Nabateans is carved out of sandstone. Many scholars believe the book of Obadiah was written here.
• Dead Sea – Treat yourself to a mud bath and float in the Salt Sea. David hid from King Saul in the mountain oasis of Ein Gedi on the western side of this body of water (Numbers 34:3, 12).
• Overnight in Dead Sea Resort Spa


DAY 10: Thursday, September 24 – Northern Dead Sea Region

• Machaerus – This is the hilltop palace/fortress of Herod Antipas where John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded (Mark 6:14-29).
• Mt. Nebo – Moses viewed the promised land from this vantage point before he died, but he could not enter it (Deuteronomy 32: 48-52).
• Bethany Beyond the Jordan – John baptized at this location on the eastern side of the Jordan River (John 1:26-28).
• Overnight in Amman


DAY 11: Friday, September 25 – Northern Jordan

• Jabbok River – In Genesis 32:22-32, Jacob wrestles with God at Peniel.
• Jerash (Ancient Gerasa) – the region of the Gerasenes in Mark 5:1 has some of the best-preserved ruins of a Greco-Roman Decapolis city.
• Evening: Debriefing & Guest Speaker
• Overnight in Amman


DAY 12: Saturday, September 26

• Return flight to Dulles
