Day 1 – April 4, 2027: Departure

Today we embark on our Journey to Israel. Prepare yourself for a life-changing experience. Get some rest on the flight…tomorrow we will land in the place that God chose to bring redemption to us.

Day 2 – April 5, 2027 – Arrive Israel

Arrive in Israel and travel northward to our hotel for one night in Netanya. By the end of the day, we will have dinner at the hotel, and you can walk along the beach of the Mediterranean Sea for the sunset. A good night’s rest will be important as we will start moving at a fast pace in the morning.

Day 3 – April 6, 2027 – Joppa, Caesarea

This morning we start our journey by visiting Joppa, one of the oldest harbor cities in the world and the biblical port which Jonah set sail before his encounter with God. In the New Testament, Joppa is also associated with the Apostle Petter, who received a pivotal vision there that helped opened the early Christian movement to the Gentiles. In the afternoon we will visit Caesarea, where the Gentiles first heard the Good News from Peter and were baptized. This is also the seaport from where the apostle Paul embarked as a prisoner on his voyage to Rome after he stood trial in front of the Roman governors Felix and Festus as well as King Herod Agrippa II. We’ll see the Roman Amphitheatre, hippodrome, a film on the history and remains of this famous port city and an aqueduct. As evening approaches, enjoy another sunset over the Great Sea.

Day 4 – April 7, 2027: Mt. Carmel, Megiddo, Nazareth

After breakfast, we board our private motor coach to visit Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged King Ahab and the prophets of Baal. Next we travel through the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo, the Armageddon battlefield, where archaeologists have unearthed 20 levels of civilization. Continue with a visit to Cana, where we will explore the Church of the Wedding at Cana, commemorating Jesus’ first miracle. The tour then continues to the town of Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. While in Nazareth, we will visit Nazareth Village, a wonderful recreation of Biblical times with costumed guides. Transfer to our hotel in Tiberias for the next four nights.

Day 5 – April 8, 2027: Beit Shean, Mt Arbel, free time in Galilee

Our day kicks off with a visit to the largest archeological site in Israel, Beth Shean. A city deserted after an earthquake; the Roman remains are in better condition here than almost anywhere in Israel. It's also where Saul’s and Jonathan's bodies were placed on the walls of the city as mentioned in 1 Samuel 31. Drive to the top of Mt. Arbel for a panoramic view of the entire Galilee region. Return to the hotel in Tiberias with free time to explore on your own.

Day 6 – April 9, 2027: Mt of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum, St Peter’s Fish Lunch, Magdala

Our first visit of the day will provide beautiful panoramic views of the Sea of Galilee as we visit the site of the Sermon on the Mount at the Mount of Beatitudes. As we descend the hill we will stop at Tabgha and the Church of the Multiplication before visiting the Capernaum, the hometown of Peter. It is in this town that Jesus and the disciples likely lived during much of His ministry while in Galilee. Following St. Peter’s fish lunch (other selections available), we will visit Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene. The recent excavation of the first century synagogue and well-preserved village makes Magdala one of the most interesting Biblical sites in Israel.

Day 7 – April 10, 2027: Tel Dan, Banias / Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights, Jesus Boat, Sea of Galilee

Hitting the ground running, we'll visit two northern cities where significant events happened in the Bible. In the Old Testament city of Dan, we will see where God's people fell into pagan worship. Next, we'll visit Caesarea Philippi, the site of Peter's great confession ("You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."). A short bus ride away, we'll stop at the Golan Heights, referred to as Bashan in the Old Testament, and see the area often referred to as "the other side of the lake" in the Gospels. As we retreat to the Sea of Galilee area our busy day concludes with a cruise on the Sea of Galilee and observe a fishing boat from the first century.

Day 8 – April 11, 2027: Jordan River, Qumran, Ein Gedi, Dead Sea

Passing the ancient city of Jericho, we'll head south along the Jordan River. We'll stop at the traditional location where the people of Israel crossed the Jordan River to conquer the land, as well as the location of Jesus' baptism. You'll also get a glimpse of the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in Qumran. These scrolls are arguably the most significant archeological discovery in biblical history. From there, we'll hike up to Ein Gedi, a waterfall in the middle of the desert. You'll quickly discover why David chose this place to hide from Saul. We'll end the day by taking a dip (or more accurately, a float) in the Dead Sea or you may relax at the hotel near the Dead Sea.

Day 9 - April 12, 2027: Masada, Hebron, Bethlehem

Our day begins with a cable car ride to the mountain top fortress of Masada, where our guide will treat us to the history of the famous zealot stand. Afterwards we travel to Hebron, one of the Bible’s oldest and most sacred cities. Hebron is closely associated with Abraham, who purchased the Cave of the Patriarchs, called Machpelah in the Old Testament, as a family burial place. It is also where King David was first anointed king, making it a foundational site of covenant, promise, and early Israelite history. This afternoon includes visits to the Shepherds’ Fields, where, according to tradition, the angels appeared to the shepherds, and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, reflecting on the birth of Christ. Our lodging for the next four evenings will be in Jerusalem.

Day 10 - April 13, 2027: Western Wall, Temple Mount, City of David including Hezekiah’s Tunnel, Mount Zion

Today we walk where Jesus walked, beginning the day with a visit to the Western Wall and then the fascinating Rabbinical Tunnels leading us through the Second Temple era. The tunnel and exhibit give a clear understanding of the amazing construction of the Temple Mount, giant stones, water supply and Roman street where our Lord was led to judgment. Before exiting the tunnel, we see the immense cornerstone rejected by the builders. Political conditions permitting, we will then visit the Temple Mount (at times, because of conflicts between Jews and Palestinians, this visit isn't possible). Commentary on the Temple Periods, and the variety of belief systems past and present, will help you see why this area is so valuable and contentious. Just outside the Dung Gate on the southeastern hill below the Temple Mount is the City of David. It was during the time of Solomon that the city limits extended past this part of Jerusalem. We’ll visit Gihon Springs, the original water source for Jerusalem, and view the new excavations of King David's palace. A highlight of the day is a walk through the incredible Hezekiah's Tunnel to the pool of Siloam, the place where, according to John 9, Jesus healed a man born blind. The day concludes with a visit to Mount Zion, which is traditionally associated with the events of the Last Supper and King David’s tomb.

Day 11 – April 14, 2027: Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Pool of Bethesda, Holy Sepulchre Church, Garden Tomb, Free Time

A beautiful view of the Old City atop the Mt. of Olives starts our day before the group walks down to the Garden of Gethsemane. How many have wished to be whisked back in time to get a glimpse of our Lord or hear His voice if only for a moment? To walk between the ancient olive trees, read the scriptures of Jesus' prayer and take time for personal reflection is important here. A visit to the Pool of Bethesda highlights the site where Jesus miraculously healed a paralyzed man, according to the Gospel of John. As the group walks along the Via Dolorosa, we are reminded of His way of suffering along with a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Our guide will explain the differing opinions on the route where Christ was led. (The actual place of crucifixion and burial is a very interesting study!) The climax of the day is the area of Golgotha (place of the skull) and the Garden Tomb, where we celebrate the resurrection with communion and a time of praise.

Day 12 – April 15, 2027: Shiloh, Mt. Gerizim, Yad Hashmona Dinner

Shiloh was the first central place of worship for the Israelites after entering the Promised Land, where the Tabernacle stood for centuries. It is closely associated with Samuel, who was dedicated there as a child, making Shiloh a powerful symbol of God’s presence, guidance, and early covenant life in Israel. Next, is a visit to what is biblically known as the mountain of blessing, Mt. Gerizim, where the proclaimed blessings upon entering the Promised Land. It later became the sacred center of worship for the Samaritans, who regard it as the chosen place where God’s presence dwells. This afternoon/evening we partake in a Last Supper themed meal at Yad Hashmona.

Day 13 – April 16, 2027: Return Home

We return home with fond memories, pictures, and new relationships to share with our family, friends, and church members of our Holy Land experience.
