the Carmelite Monastery. Driving via the Valley of Armageddon, we arrive
in Megiddo. Here we'll see 20 layers of civilization only recently
unearthed by archaeologists. Megiddo is referred to as Armageddon in the
New Testament. Dinner and overnight is in Tiberias, a resort town on the
        Sea of Galilee.
        Day 4: Cruising
        The Sea Of Galilee
We'll enjoy an early morning boat ride on the tranquil Sea of Galilee.
Afterwards we'll visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of Jesus'
unforgettable Sermon on the Mount and Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the
Loaves and Fishes. Our group proceeds to Capernaum then cross the River
Jordan to Caesarea Phillipi and the Golan Heights. We return to our
        hotel for dinner and overnight.
        Day 5: Jordan
        Baptismal Site & Jerusalem
We begin our day with a visit to Yardenit, the Baptismal Center on the
River Jordan. Afterwards we drive to Beit Shean to see the ancient
amphitheater. Our journey to the Holy City of Jerusalem will be via the
Judean Desert. We arrive in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
        Day 6: Old City &
        Mt. Zion
Today we'll see the main attractions of the Old City, beginning at the
Western (Wailing) Wall. Other exciting highlights include the Pool of
Bethesda and the Church of St. Anne. We'll walk along the Via Dolorosa
beginning at Pilate's Judgement Hall and ending at the church of the
Holy Sepulcher. This afternoon we'll visit St. Peter in Galicantu and
Mt. Zion. Here we'll visit the tomb of King David and the "Upper
Room", site of the Last Supper. Our day ends with a somber visit to
the Garden Tomb. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
        Day 7: Mt. Of
        Olives & Bethlehem
Following breakfast we'll take a drive to the Mount of Olives for a
sweeping view of Jerusalem and the surrounding area. We then proceed to
the Church of the Ascension and the Garden of Gethsemene, where Jesus
prayed before His agony. We'll see the Kidron Valley and the tombs of
Absalom, Zachariah and James. Next is a visit to a scale model of the
city during the time of the Second Temple. At the Shrine of the Book,
located at the Israel Museum, we'll see the Dead Sea Scrolls on display.
The "Chamber of Martyrs", Yad Vashem, is next on our
itinerary. This moving memorial and museum is dedicated to the victims
of the Holocaust. This afternoon we drive to the village of Ein Karem,
the birthplace of John the Baptist. From there we drive to nearby
Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd's Field. We
return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
        Day 8: Dead Sea &
        Qumran Caves
Our journey today is to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. You may
notice room-sized "icebergs" floating about which are actually
chunks of nearly pure salt. Next on our itinerary is Qumran, site of the
caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We'll ascend the
mountain top to Masada via cable car. Here 900 Jews kept 10,000 Roman
soldiers at bay for more than a year. If time permits, we'll have the
opportunity to "bob along" in the Dead Sea. We return to

This morning we'll visit St. George's Cathedral, which contains a mosaic
floor with the oldest map of the holy land (dating back to the Byzantine
period). At Mt. Nebo, we'll visit the alleged burial site of Moses. It
was from here that Moses saw the promised land. We arrive in Petra in
time for dinner and overnight at our hotel.
        Day 11: Petra -
        The Carved City
A full day tour of the most fabulous site in Jordan awaits us in Petra.
The ancient rose-colored city sits in the Wadi Musa Canyon. We'll
venture through the Siq (the gorge between two towering cliffs) until we
reach the Treasury. Like most structures in Petra, the Treasury is
carved into the indigenous reddish Nubian sandstone. This afternoon we
cross back into Israel via the Allenby Bridge and drive to Tel-Aviv.
