Deposit Required: $300 per person will reserve your place. A $100 service fee will be charged for cancellation at any time in addition to our normal payment and cancellation policy.

Day 1: Depart for Warsaw

Depart from USA to Warsaw on your overnight flight.

Day 2: Arrive in Warsaw

Transfer to the Novotel Centrum Hotel. Meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby at 6:00 PM for the welcome dinner and folklore performance. (D)

Day 3: Jewish Ghetto Memorial, Lazienki Park & Royal Castle

Highlights of your half-day tour include Old Town, rebuilt with great reverence after World War II, the beautiful Old Market Square, the Barbican and medieval defense walls. Continue to the Jewish Ghetto Memorial dedicated to the victims of Nazi brutality. Then we drive along the Royal Route, important for its place in Polish history. Next stop is Lazienki Park and its elegant sculpture of Chopin surrounded by rose bushes. After lunch, an excursion to the Royal Castle - former residence of Polish kings. (B,L)

Day 4: Zakopane, Jasna Gora Monastery & The Black Madonna

After breakfast, depart for Zakopane. En route you'll visit the Jasna Gora monastery and its famous shrine which houses the, venerated by some as the ''Queen of Poland.'' Lunch in Czestochowa. Continue to Zakopane, a splendid resort area and cultural center high up in the Tatra mountains. (B,L)

Day 5: Mt. Gubalowka, Tatras, Oswiecim & Auschwitz

Sightseeing of Zakopane and its quaint wooden architecture. A ride to the top of Mt. Gubalowka provides a breathtaking view of the Tatras. After lunch depart for Krakow via Oswiecim-Auschwitz, site of the dreadful Nazi death camp and now a martyrdom museum. (B,L)

Day 6: Wawel Hill, Old Town & Wieliczka Salt Mine

Your morning city tour includes the fortified castle and cathedral complex of Wawel Hill, Old Town, and St. Mary's Church with the masterpiece altar carved by Wit Stwosz. In the afternoon visit Wieliczka Salt Mine, a splended 3-mile-long underground complex of chambers, chapels and statues sculptured from salt. Dinner at local restaurant. (D)

Day 7: Torun & Vistula River

Morning departure for Warsaw. After lunch, continue to Torun, an historic town on the banks of the Vistula River. (B,L)

Day 8: Torun City Tour & ''The Pod Gwiazda'' house

A morning city tour of Torun's marvelous Gothic architecture includes the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus on St. Anne's Street. Study the Old Town Square, Town Hall, nearby ''Pod Gwiazda'' house, and much more. After lunch, departure for Gdynia. (B,L)

Day 9: Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Oliwa

Morning tour of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot. The Old Town area of Gdansk, with its Town Hall, Artus Court, Great Arsenal, St. Mary's Church and lovely burgher's houses, is a masterpiece of post-war reconstruction. Continue to Oliwa for a concert on the cathedral's famous pipe organ. Afternoon free for private exploration and leisure. Lunch at a local restaurant. (B,L)

Day 10: Mazurian Lake District & Malbork

Today we leave for the Mazurian Lake district, one of Poland's favorite vacation areas. Along the way, stop in Malbork, famous for the massive Teutonic Knights' castle - among the best-preserved medieval structures in Central Europe. Picnic and overnight in Olsztyn. (B,L)

Day 11: Olsztynek

After breakfast, departure for Warsaw. On the way we'll stop in Olsztynek, the site of an outdoor museum of folk architecture. Included is a farewell dinner at your hotel. (B,D)

Day 12: Departure Home

Transfer to the airport for your homeward flight. (B)
