OLD TESTAMENT TOUR - March 10-20, 2020
Day One - Bound for the Promised Land!

Board in Canada, wake up in Israel, as you fly overnight to Tel Aviv.

Day Two - Creation to Abraham

We will transport you to our hotel in Ashkelon where you may relax in your room or on the beach. If you like, join us for a visit to Ashkelon National Park. As the sun slips below the horizon of the Mediterranean Sea, sleep soundly in preparation for your journey back in time.

Day Three - The Patriarchs (Genesis)

Tour the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, including ancient Be'ersheva and Hebron, where the patriarchs are buried. Hike in Israel's beautiful desert as we consider Joseph beginning his travel to Egypt. Sleep in the stark beauty of the Negev.

Day Four - To "Egypt"* and Back (Genesis, Exodus)

After a short hike in the Ramon Crater, travel with us through the Desert of Paran and then on to Timna Park where we will see a life-size model of the tabernacle. View the colourful fish and coral of the Red Sea at the underwater observatory in Eilat. Cross the border into Jordan. After an optional camel ride, enjoy a bedouin dinner in the desert of Wadi Rum before spending a night in your luxury tent as we "wander in the wilderness" back to the Promised Land. *Note: we will not be actually entering Egypt, but our time in Southern Israel will be representative of that event.

Day Five - Wilderness Wanderings (Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy)

While driving through the ancient lands of the Edomites, Moabites, and Ammonites (modern Jordan), we will stop at Petra for a jaw-dropping tour of this ancient Nabatean city. Later in the day, we will visit Mount Nebo to view the Promised Land seen by Moses before he died, and then we will head to Amman for the night.

Day Six - Into the Promised Land (Joshua, Judges, Ruth)

After crossing the Jordan River back into Israel, ride with us to what remains of Gilgal and then walk through the ruins of ancient Jericho. Begin to "take over the land" as we visit the ruins of Bethel. Travel north to the area of ancient Shechem in Samaria. Visit Shiloh, the place the tabernacle rested for 369 years during early Israel's conquering of the land. Travel towards Jerusalem for our first night in that area.

Day Seven - The United Kingdom of Saul, David, and Solomon (I and II Samuel, I Kings, I Chronicles, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes)

Following a tour of the excavations of the ancient City of David, visit The Kotel to enjoy some private prayer time near the site of Solomon's Temple. Walk through Hezekiah's water tunnels and along the walls surrounding the old city of Jerusalem. Travel to the Joppa harbour, where Jonah boarded a ship for Tarshish. Enjoy another night on the Mediterranean coast, this time near Netanya.

Day Eight - The Divided Kingdoms of Israel and Judah (rest of the Old Testament)

Drive to the top of Mount Carmel, where Elijah met with the prophets of Baal. Visit the ruins of ancient Megiddo, where we will descend into King Ahab's water cisterns. Ride with us through the Jezreel Valley, past Mount Gilboa, to the magnificent ruins of Beit Shean. Sit back and enjoy the comfortable bus ride down the Jordan Valley and along the western shore of the Dead Sea to Ein Bokek, our final destination of the day.

Day Nine - Breathe, Unwind, Relax! ("The Silent Years" between the testaments)

Play and float in the Dead Sea. You may opt to spend your entire day at this resort, or join us to see nearby Mount Sodom. Ride then to Masada, the Jewish fortress breached by the Romans in 73 AD. Walk through these ruins, noticing the fantastic view of the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea. Browse through the gift shop before heading back to Ein Bokek.

Day Ten - Old Testament Review

Enjoy a walk in the beautiful oasis of Ein Gedi, a region of desert hills, water springs, and caves where David hid out from Saul. Visit Qumran, an Essene community and site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Continue on to Jerusalem, where we will see some of those scrolls at The Shrine of the Book. See part of the extensive archaeological exhibit at the Israel museum, and marvel at the amazing model of Jerusalem during first century Israel.

Day Eleven - Travel Home

Enjoy your final breakfast buffet before your departure from Ben Gurion Airport. Reflect on your memories of the Land of Israel.

NEW TESTAMENT TOUR - March 17-26, 2020 Day One - Off to Israel!

Board in Canada, wake up in Israel, as you fly overnight to Tel Aviv.

Day Two - Get Oriented to Israel

We will meet you at the Ben Gurion Airport and drive you to meet up with travellers from our Old Testament tour group. Walk through the ruins of Masada, the Jewish fortress breached by the Romans in 73 AD. Browse through the gift shop before heading to Ein Bokek for dinner. Relax and float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea before retiring for the night.

Day Three - Anticipate the coming of Messiah (between the Testaments)

Enjoy a walk in the beautiful oasis of Ein Gedi, a region of desert hills, caves, and water springs.

Day Four - Jesus' Childhood

Visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Imagine the shepherds keeping watch on the surrounding hillsides, then travel north to the region where Jesus grew up. After a fascinating stop at Herod's Caesarea Maritima, we will continue on to "Nazareth Village" to learn what life was like 2000 years ago in an obscure village of Galilee. If you like, join us for an evening hillside walk in Nazareth before spending the night in this boyhood town of Jesus.

Day Five - Jesus' Ministry

Travel past Cana to a lookout from Mount Arbel. Enjoy your first glimpse of the Sea of Galilee and an overview of the area where Jesus ministered. Ride to the Sermon on the Mount site, and then to the northern end of Israel where we will visit Tel Dan and Caesarea Philippi. If you like, hike with us to a pretty waterfall at Banias, one of the headwaters of the Jordan River. Time permitting, we will stop at Bethsaida or Migdal before overnighting in Tiberias along the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Day Six - Jesus' Ministry

After a short visit to see the 2000 year old "Jesus boat", we will board a boat of our own in Ginosar and ride on the Sea of Galilee north to Capernaum. We will recall Jesus' years living in that area as we tour the town ruins. Then we'll drive down the north and east shores of the lake, past the region where Jesus cast the demons into the swine, stopping for a delicious lunch of "St. Peter's fish". At the Jordan River, you will be given an opportunity to be baptized, should you so desire. If time permits, we will enjoy an optional canoe ride on the Jordan before heading back to Jerusalem for the night.

Day Seven - Jerusalem at the time of Jesus

We will be in the Old City of Jerusalem for this day. We will tour the tunnels along the Western wall of the Temple Mount and visit the pool of Bethesda. Walk with us on the ancient southern steps that led to the Temple, spending some time at the archaeological park that encompasses them. As we visit the Roman Cardo, enjoy walking the narrow stone streets of Old Jerusalem. Experience an exciting review of Jerusalem's history at The Time Elevator before heading back to our hotel for the evening.

Day Eight - Jesus' Last Days

From the Mount of Olives, we will overlook the Old City of Jerusalem, then walk along where Jesus would have ridden into the city on the back of a donkey. We will walk through Jesus' last hours - to Gethsemane, Caiaphas' house, and "The Pavement" where He was condemned to crucifixion. Walk with us on the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a possible site of Jesus' crucifixion. Then come to the other possible site, Gordon's Calvary, where we will have a communion service together. Peek into the tomb, and notice that "He is not here; He is risen!"

Day Nine - First Century Israel to Present

Walk through Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust Museum, for a sobering tour of atrocities in recent history. Then come with us to the Temple Institute, where we will see furniture and vessels being prepared for use in the next Temple! Have a final walk through the Old City, visiting her shops, and absorbing her ambience. Sleep well on your last night in The Holy City.

Day Ten - Travel Home

Board your flight back to Canada, never to be the same again. Savour sweet memories of Israel as you dream of your days in "The Beautiful Land".
