Grandparents Have a Great Advantage!

You can have a great influence on your grandchildren.

Psalm 78:4 - We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

Grandparents as a whole have a position of favor and respect in the eyes of their grandchildren.

Grandchild polling provides a very high approval rating of grandparents. Children do not feel the psychological need to be different from grandparents or separate themselves from the grandparents as they do from their parents. Grandparents are usually free from the skirmishes that occur as a child grows toward independence from the parents. They are loved and respected without the same tensions that the parents experience.

Instinctive survival of the family is natural.
In the same vein, the natural order is for the younger to look to the elder for support in these areas. The history of man coupled with the natural order of creation has always elevated the Patriarch and Matriarch position. Grandparents need to take advantage of these natural benefits of elevated position by passing on important truths and using their influence to regularly remind family about what treasure truly is.

Passing On The Inheritance:

What will you pass on to your family?

Proverbs 13:22 - A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Proverbs 17:6 - Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

Matthew 6:33 - Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.

II Timothy 1:5 - “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.”

Matthew 6:19-20 - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
