Tour & Cruise
January 13 - 20, 2007
7 days/6
nights
Day
One – Dallas & Southfork Ranch
Arrival at the Philadelphia International Airport for our morning flight
to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport. Upon arrival, we are met by our
private motorcoach and our local Texan guide for a city tour of Dallas.
Our tour will include a stop at Dealey Plaza – the scene of the
assassination of President John F. Kennedy and a visit to the Sixth
Floor Exhibit which details the life, death, and legacy of President
Kennedy. After checking in to our Dallas hotel, we travel to the
Southfork Ranch, home to the famous fictional character – J.R. Ewing of
TV’s “Dallas” and enjoy our tasty Chuckwagon dinner before a tour
of the ranch.
Day
Two – Fort Worth
This morning we travel to the “cowtown” of Forth Worth for a guided tour
flavored with stories of famous outlaws like Butch Cassidy and The
Sundance Kid. Stops will be made at the Sid Richardson Museum of
Western Art and the Cattle Raiser’s Museum. Lunch on own at the Fort
Worth Stockyards before heading southwest to San Antonio. After
checking in to our hotel in the beautiful city of San Antonio, take time
this evening to enjoy the Riverwalk which winds through shops and
restaurants in the downtown area.
Day
Three –The Alamo
Our day begins with a visit to the IMAX Theater to view their
presentation, “The Price of Freedom”, a reenactment of the events
surrounding the battle at the Alamo. Then we walk across the street to
this famous Spanish Mission where only a portion of the Alamo remains as
a symbol of Texan pride and independent spirit for a self-guided tour.
Free time will be given to stroll along the Riverwalk, set along a
winding waterway, for browsing and lunch on own. Before departing San
Antonio, we visit the Institute of Texan Cultures with its interactive
exhibits of Texan and native American culture. We journey on to Houston
for our overnight stay.
Day
Four – Johnson Space Center
Start our day off with an exciting visit to the nerve center of N.A.S.A.
– the Johnson Space Center – filled with exhibits and equipment from the
U.S. Space Program. Areas of interest include the Astronaut Training
Center and Mission Control. Next, we travel to the barrier island city
of Galveston, situated two miles off shore in the Gulf of Mexico. It is
from this island city that our 4-night Western Caribbean Sailing on the
Celebration cruise ship with Carnival Cruise Lines will depart later
this afternoon. Cruise departure is scheduled for 4:00 pm. Sit back
and relax as you leave the picturesque island of Galveston for Cozumel,
Mexico.
Day
Five – A Day at Sea
With meals, activities, and entertainment included, all we have to do is
to enjoy our day at sea. This floating resort has huge pools, wide
decks, and street-long promenades with lively clubs, a shopping mall,
glamorous casino, and a friendly staff to fulfill your every
expectation.
Day
Six – Cozumel
We arrive at the port of Cozumel by 10 am this morning and have an
entire day to enjoy the city which the Conquistadors first saw in Mexico
when searching for gold. The waters around Cozumel’s shelter coral
reefs make this one of the best snorkeling areas in the world. We have
a variety of optional excursions from which to choose including, a
tropical safari jeep tour, an express to the Tulum Mayan Ruins, a trip
to Xcaret Eco-Archeological Park, a transfer to Cancun, an island tour
of Cozumel or a Fiesta Party Boat. The most difficult part will be to
pick just one!
Day
Seven –Heading Back
Another day at sea as we head back to Galveston with the opportunity to
enjoy all of the ship’s amenities. Make sure to check out the fitness
center, pools, whirlpools, and the ship’s agenda for all of the onboard
activities. By now, we do not have to remind anyone about the delicious
dining offered all day long!
