Haleakala Crater

Including: This scenic journey will take you across west Maui passing many of the beautiful tropical plantations that this area of the island is famous for. You'll travel up the mountain through Maui's rural and horticultural scenery, to Haleakala National Park. There, you'll find the legendary Haleakala Crater, measuring 7-1/2 miles long by 2-1/2 miles wide. This dormant volcano last erupted in 1790. From the rim, you'll be able to appreciate firsthand the unique beauty of this massive, 3,000-foot deep crater with its interesting mix of volcanic rock and plant life. Haleakala Crater is a natural wonder and is the highest point on the island of Maui. The views from the top, at 10,032 feet above sea level, are magnificent. The Hawaiian Islands stretch out before you, from the Big Island of Hawaii all the way to Oahu, on a clear day all are visible from this remarkable vantage point. 

Note: We recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a sweater. Temperatures range between 40-65 degrees Fahrenheit. Travel time is approximately 45 miles (2-1/4 hours) hours each way, with two 15-minute stops, one at the Ranger Station and another at the overlook.

    
Maui Tropical Plantation and the Iao Valley

Including: Visit two of Maui's most beautiful and popular attractions. Begin at the Maui Tropical Plantation, where you'll enjoy a fully narrated 40-minute tram tour of the Plantation's agricultural villages, macadamia nut orchards, sugar cane fields and flower gardens. Demonstrations of coconut husking and lei making, plus fruit tasting, round out the visit. There you'll also have time to browse at the Made-on-Maui Marketplace. Then it's on to the Iao Valley, a remnant of the volcanic caldera in the West Maui Mountains. Ancient Hawaiians called this place "Supreme Light," and considered it sacred. There you'll stop at one of Maui's most unique sights, the Iao Needle, a 2,250-foot cinder cone pinnacle which dominates its lush surroundings and was once used as an altar.

Maui Ocean Center and the Iao Valley

Including: Visit Maui's newest and most unique sights, the Maui Ocean Center, the largest tropical reef aquarium in the Western Hemisphere with spectacular marine life found in Hawaiian waters. Then you'll drive to the Iao Valley State Park, home of the Iao Needle, a 2,250-foot cone pinnacle that dominates its lush surroundings. Then return to the Lahaina Wharf where tenders will be waiting to transfer you back to your awaiting ship.

Atlantis Submarine Adventure

Including: Your adventure begins with 20-minute shuttle ride from the harbor with scenic views of Lahaina and the Maui coastline. You will arrive at the Atlantis dive site and transfer to the submarine and will be transported to the underwater world for 45 minutes. Being in a submarine and descending to 100 feet underwater is an adventure by itself. To add to this unforgettable experience, just imagine the marine life you will see up close. Explore Maui's coral gardens, sea turtles and other tropical fish and marine life. The friendly crew will share their love of the ocean with you. With a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating, this one-of-a-kind submarine allows you access to Hawaii's sea life. Waiting for you is a complimentary beach chair and a tropical beverage. Relax in the sun, swim or beach comb. Canoes, surfboards or other beach toys are available for rent. After a few hours of fun-in-the sun, you may return to the dock by the transportation provided or you may choose to stay on the beach and arrange your own transportation back to the ship.

Maui Whale Watch

Myth and Magic Show

Including: There is a wind only in Maui that rises at twilight. It whispers of other times both mythical and real. It blows between daylight and night, between times and worlds. It is hopeful and cleansing. The ancient Hawaiian name for this wind is 'Ulalena'. It is also the name of the newest and most amazing stage production in Hawaii. Enjoy an evening of theatrical entertainment where the story begins with the mythic creation of the islands and rolls through successive waves of voyagers who have found their way to these shores, from the first Polynesians, to Captain Cook, and finally to present day Hawaii's. Hoku Nui Luau

Including: In the traditional custom of old Hawaii, the sound of the pu, the conch, signals the start of the festive luau. As guests enter, beautiful maidens and virile men, eager to pose with the guests for memorable pictures greet them with shell leis from the beaches of the South Pacific. The syncopated drums signal the lighting of the torches that will bring the tropical beachside garden setting to life. Guests are welcomed with Mai tais, standard cocktails or fruit punch as they enjoy this beautiful evening under the Hawaiian skies, and are invited to enjoy the demonstrations of coconut tree climbing, coconut husking and weaving, or try the ancient Hawaiian game versions of spear throwing and lawn bowling. The bountiful luau feast follows, featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet of mouth-watering Hawaiian delicacies and desserts. A pageant presentation South Pacific fashion show precedes the South Seas Spectacular - "Legends Of Polynesia," a journey of chant, song, dance and drama, through the South Pacific isles of Tahiti, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand and Samoa. Tropical Hiking Adventure

Including: Capture the lush natural beauty of Maui on our guided hike through a rainforest and other tropical surroundings. Your friendly and knowledgeable guides will provide you with basic safety information and instruction, as well as a full narration during your hike, including Hawaiian history and culture as well as information on the indigenous plants and their uses. You'll stop near a stream for a refreshing swim and to relax and enjoy a healthy snack. After your wonderful day in paradise, your return to the dock is via air-conditioned van. 

Note: Please wear a swimsuit under comfortable clothing, hiking or tennis shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses. Participants will be supplied with ponchos and backpacks. This is not a strenuous hike but participants should be in good physical condition.

Kayak and Snorkel

Including: Upon arrival at the kayak departure area, your knowledgeable guide will impart basic paddling instruction and safety information before departing on your fun eco-adventure. You will paddle along the beautiful Maui shoreline. Your guide will provide narration including the history, and culture unique to Maui as they also talk about various points of interest along the scenic coastline. You will stop at certain reefs along the way to enjoy a bit of snorkeling fun, where you will have the opportunity to see tropical fish and perhaps a green sea turtle. After your snorkel break you will make the relaxing return to the ship. 

Note: Wear a swimsuit under clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, sturdy footwear and bring a towel. Participants should be in reasonable physical condition and be able to swim. Tour is not suitable for those with back or heart conditions. Children must be over 10 years of age and accompanied by an adult if under 18 years old.

Catch a Wave!

Duration: 3 hours

Including: Surf's up and you will be "hanging ten" in no time. Your fun begins when your instructor meets you at the dock to escort you to the beach area in Lahaina. Expert surfers will first instruct you on land before you paddle out to ride your first wave. After your lessons, feel free to practice on the surfboard provided or you may wish to just relax on the beach for a while. Notes: Participants should wear swimsuit, sunscreen as well as sunglasses that cannot fall off. Bring a towel and drinking water. Surfboard, wax, and leash are provided. Participants wishing to stay on the beach longer than the time allotted may return to the ship on their own. Participants must be good swimmers, in good physical condition and over 12 years of age and accompanied by an adult if under 18 years old.
