Day 1: USA - France
Overnight flight from the United States.
Day 2: Paris - Eiffel Tower
Arrival in Paris and orientation tour "en Route" to the hotel.
This afternoon, we climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower and see the
beautiful city stretching out below. We will finish our day with dinner
at our Parisian hotel, our home for the next 4 nights.
Day 3: Paris - Champs Elysees
Our tour of Paris starts with a view of Champs Elysees Avenue, from the
top of Arc de Triomphe. Drive on Champs Elysees Avenue, called "the
most beautiful avenue of the world." Enjoy the elegant areas of
Place de la Concorde, Arc de Triomphe, and St. Honore Street, home of
the President and of the most famous fashion designers. This afternoon
is free to stroll in Le Louvre Museum, with its Pyramide, and its
gardens. Dinner at our hotel.
Day 4: Paris - Dinner Cruise
Today we tour the famous Notre Dame. Later, we can visit the Sainte
Chapelle, also known as the Holy Chapel and see its lovely stained glass
before seeing the Conciergerie. This afternoon, we can look forward to a
tour of Pantheon, Sorbonne, Gardens and Palace of Luxemburg. Dinner
Cruise on la Seine River.
Day 5: Versailles
Tour of Versailles Castle and its gardens today where we will be
impressed by the sumptuous architecture and the impressive Hall of
Mirrors. Afternoon at leisure in Montmartre and dinner in a restaurant
of Montmartre.
Day 6: Nice (Riviera)
We depart early by TGV to Nice. Upon our arrival, we will lunch and tour
"Promenade des Anglais," Place Massena, old town, and Cimiez
Monastery. Dinner at the hotel where we will spend the next two nights.
Evening free for leisure.
Day 7: Monaco - Monte Carlo
Another early departure to tour St. Paul de Vence, Grasse and visit of a
perfumery. Afternoon in Monaco where we will tour the Cathedral and the
Prince's Palace. This evening, we will be in Monte-Carlo for a dinner
and a Ballet/concert. Overnight at our Nice hotel.
Day 8: Cannes - Aix en Provence
We start our tour today with Antibes (old town, ramparts, marketplace,
fort, Port Vauban) then Cannes (la Croisette, le Suquet, La Napoule,
Grimaud, St. Tropez). Later, La Napoule, Grimaud, and St. Tropez.
Afternoon in Aix en Provence. Dinner and overnight in the Camargue area.
Day 9: Avignon - Camargue
Departure for Avignon (Castle of the Popes, Saint Bénezet bridge, Pont
du Gard, Nimes with arenas, Maison Carré and gardens). Afternoon
discovery of La Camargue area. Later, we tour Salin de Girau, and
overview of the fauna and the flora. Farewell dinner with flamenco
dancers. Overnight at our Hotel.
Day 10: France - USA
Transfer to Marseilles Airport for return flight to the US.
