June & July
Day 1: Newfoundland
Today depart for
Newfoundland, via Truro and Antigonish to Cape Breton Island. Board the
ferry for a relaxing crossing to Port aux Basques. Spend the night at
St. Christopher’s Motor Inn. (Box L) *(Due to ferry scheduling, the
June 15 departure spends the night in North Sydney. On Day 2, travel by
ferry to Newfoundland and spend the night in Corner Brook.)
Day 2: Corner
Brook
Drive along
Newfoundland’s rocky coastline to Corner Brook. Enjoy an afternoon
city tour before checking into the Glynmill Inn for the night. This
evening enjoy a welcome dinner. (B,D)
Day 3: Gros Morne
National Park
•
Grand Falls
Motor through the
harsh interior wilderness and discover the sheltered fjords in Gros
Morne National Park. Arrive in Grand Falls where you spend two nights at
the Mount Peyton Hotel. (B,L)
Day 4: Corner
Brook
Drive along Notre Dame Bay to the beautiful outport of Twillingate.
Return to Grand Falls and visit the Salmonid Interpretation Center. (L,D)
Day 5: St. John's
Visit Terra Nova
National Park. Arrive in St. John’s where you spend two nights at the
Delta St. John’s. (B,L,D)
Day 6: St. John's

Bay Bulls
Enjoy a tour of
the old seaport city of St. John’s, including the panoramic view from
Signal Hill. Drive to Bay Bulls and enjoy a boat tour to the bird
sanctuary (weather permitting). (June and July is the season for
whales!) Return to St. John’s and enjoy a free evening. (B)
Day 7: Argentia

North Sydney

Nova Scotia
An early
departure takes you to Argentia. Set out aboard the MV Joseph and Clara
Smallwood, crossing to North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Spend the night at the
North Star Inn. (CB)
Day 8:
Halifax
Follow the shores of the Bras d’Or Lake, and then the highways that
lead to Halifax. Those catching evening flights may be dropped at the
Halifax International Airport, otherwise a post night will likely be
required. (B,L)
Day 9: Home
Our tour ends today with fond memories of a place of distinct cultures, interesting history and unspoiled nature.
