Nova Scotia Important Holidays

Nova Scotia
Nova Scotians enjoy many festivals that celebrate their diverse heritage, such as the Highland Games that is a well-known Scottish festival. Lobster and clams festivals, whaler and wooden boat festivals, along with the celebration of the arrival of the harvest of blueberries, apples, and other foods, are a part of over 400 festivals and special events that take place annually. In the early spring they observe Good Friday and Easter, and Victoria Day is celebrated 23rd of May. Their independence is celebrated on July 1st and is called Canada Day. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 10th of October, and their Christmas is observed on the traditional day of December 25TH.

Prince Edward Island
A number of annual events take place on Prince Edward Island in the summer. Many festivals run from June to September. The highlight of the theatrical festivals is the musical play Anne of Green Gables. From strawberry festivals to lobster feasts, there are many numerous occasions to enjoy the food and celebrations of the island. On Canada Day, July 1st, visitors enjoy festivals that celebrate the beginning of the province.
