Day 1 • Journey Begins
Heading westward, our first stop will be the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum known in the 1940's as the Salvation Army Servicemen's Canteen in which over 1.5 million GI's were greeted during WWII. A box canteen lunch will be prepared to take on board as we head to Columbus to the American Whistle Factory for a tour. Columbus is also home to Graeter's Ice Cream Factory where we will surely find a delectable flavor of ice cream after our tour. Dinner at hotel or nearby restaurant as we overnight in Ohio.
Day 2 • The Roaring 20's
Our destination by early afternoon is the windy city, Chicago. Situated on the banks of Lake Michigan, Chicago stretches along the coastline set against a backdrop of this great city skyline. Our tour will take us along the shore as well as visits to the downtown neighborhood - The Loop. We continue on to the Clock Tower Resort for the evening to enjoy an original music comedy, The Roaring 20's Red Garter Revue, at their dinner theatre.
Day 3 • The House on the Rocks
Prepare to be dazzled today as we enter a complex of over 16 buildings of rooms filled with interesting experiences at The House on the Rocks. We will enter the world's only Infinity Room which juts out unsupported for 218 feet over the Wyoming Valley and also view the world's largest Carousel, music machines, a miniature circus, and grand floral displays. Next, we travel to the Wisconsin Dell's area for a sunset cruise before dinner and overnight in the Dells area.
Day 4 • Circle Wisconsin
This morning, we take a guided tour and meet the largest, rarest, and most beautiful birds on earth, at the International Crane Foundation. After spending time with nature, we travel to the Circus World Museum, the original winter quarters of the world famous Ringling Bros. Circus. Travel north to Green Bay for our evening stay, but not before visiting the National Railroad Museum in this city. This museum exhibits a large collection of locomotives and railcars spanning more than a century, including General Eisenhower’s WWII steam locomotive, The Golden Shuttle.
Day 5 • Soo Locks
View the beauty of the Lake Michigan coastline as we head toward Sault Ste. Marie in Michigan. After checking in to our hotel for the next two evenings, we take a boat ride on the St. Mary's River and the Soo Locks while enjoying a delicious buffet style dinner on the Sunset Dinner Cruise.
Day 6 • Agawa Canyon Train
One of the highlights of our tour is the spectacular train ride through Agawa Canyon. This one-day wilderness excursion takes us 114 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie, over towering trestles, alongside pristine northern lakes and rivers, and through the awesome granite rock formations and mixed forests of the Canadian Shield. Our trip will be even more breathtaking with the beauty of the fall foliage. Return to our hotel this evening with a chance to visit one of the local casinos.
Day 7 • Tobermory Ferry
We leave Sault Ste. Marie and travel to the port village of South Baymouth before boarding the "Big Canoe" (Chi Cheemaun ferry boat) for a crossing of the Georgian Bay famous for lighthouses and scenic beauty. After disembarking from the ferry, we will have dinner in the Tobermory area then proceed to Owen Sound for our overnight stay.
Day 8 • Wasaga Beach and Toronto
A stop is made this morning at one of Ontario's scenic lake regions, Wasaga Beach on the Georgian Bay before heading toward one of Canada's most famous cities, Toronto. A driving tour with our step-on guide will include the beautiful waterfront, CN Tower, Skydome, Parliament Buildings, and the Toronto Stock Exchange. A special treat tonite as we attend the unique and innovative Famous People Players Dinner Theatre. Toronto is recognized as the third largest theatre centre in the English speaking world.
Day 9 • "Smile"
On our last day, we stop at one of Rochester's premiere cultural attractions, the George Eastman House with outstanding collections of photography and film. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Kodak founder's 1905 mansion and gardens have been impeccably restored. After touring, we continue homeward to Pennsylvania with arrival by evening.
