Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Tour |
Day 1 Arrival In
New York
We begin our sightseeing with a tour of Upper New York. We'll see Central
Park, Columbus University, Grant's Tomb and the fine homes and shops along
glamorous Fifth Avenue. Time permitting; we'll also make stops at St.
Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center and the Cathedral of St. John
Divine. We then check into our hotel and have dinner at the Rockefeller
Café. Tonight we enjoy a Broadway performance.
Day 2 Empire State
Building And Lincoln Center
Today we'll visit one of New York's famous landmarks, the Empire State
Building. You will not believe the tremendous view from the observation
tower. Next we travel to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
including lunch at the Panevino Restaurant. Lincoln Center is a fourteen
acre complex of educational and artistic institutions. The buildings were
designed by some of the nation's finest architects. Later this afternoon
we return to the hotel to rest up before our night out. Dinner is at
Carnegie's New York Delicatessen. Unique to this fabulous city, eating in
a New York deli is an experience in itself. This evening's entertainment
will be a Broadway theater production.
Day 3 Macy's
Thanksgiving Day Parade
Breakfast finds us overlooking one of the most famous parades in the
world. Choose your favorite seat, whether outside or inside, for a view of
this fantastic celebration. Following the excitement of the parade, we'll
enjoy a tour of Lower Manhattan with visits to Times Square, the Garment
District, Madison Square Garden, Greenwich Village, the World Trade Center
and Wall Street. Tonight's dinner is at Sardi's for a traditional holiday
meal. A Broadway show follows our meal.
Day 4 Liberty
Island And Ellis Island
Our morning is begins with a sightseeing tour of the most famous island in
the US, Liberty Island. Our motorcoach takes us to Battery Park where
we'll board a ferry for a visit to the Statue of Liberty. We then move on
to Ellis Island, which houses a tremendous museum dedicated to the
immigrants who passed through here. Lunch today is at the South Street
Seaport. This restored historic district is a scenic setting for a lazy
afternoon. Restaurants and shops are located in and around the piers
overlooking the East River and Brooklyn. Tonight we enjoy a farewell
dinner at the View Restaurant atop the Marriott Marquis.
Day 5 Radio City
Music Hall & The Rockettes
Before our departure from the Big Apple we'll be treated to a New York
tradition - a performance by the Radio City Rockettes. As an added bonus,
we'll enjoy a backstage tour of the Music Hall. The building is the
brainchild of Roxy Rothafel and opened its doors on December 2, 1932. It
was the first building in the Rockefeller Center complex and the largest
indoor theater in the world at the time. We'll enjoy a wonderful
performance of tap dance and line kicks. Brunch today is at the Tavern On
The Green under sparkling chandeliers and amidst mirrored walls and
thousands of fresh flowers. We then transfer to the airport for our return
flight home, filled with images and memories of a holiday tour fit for
kings and queens. (Brunch)
