for the "Bible Believing" Christian

April 6-18, 2005 - SOLD OUT

Day 1: Departure
Our life-changing journey begins this evening as we board our overnight flight to Cairo, Egypt.

Day 2 Arrival Cairo
Upon arrival in Cairo we meet our guide and driver who will transport us to the hotel for dinner and rest for the remainder of the evening. We relax tonight as we prepare for the adventurous travel ahead.

Day 3 Cairo
Today we travel back to ancient Egypt with a full day of touring to the wonders of the ancient world. We spend time at one of the seven wonders of the world- the pyramids. Cheops, with an original height of 496 feet, is the most colossal pyramid ever built. Today, we will also see the Sphinx and tour the Egyptian Museum, location of Tutankhamen's treasures and ancient remains.

Day 4 Sinai
This morning we depart Cairo and travel the route of the Exodus across the Sinai. We learn of the terrain and the history of this region en-route. Arriving in the late afternoon to the hotel at the St Catherine Monastery we have dinner at rest for our early morning activity. Just into the new day we wake and depart for a memorable candle light walk up Mt Moses for a sunrise to remember. Once at the top we have a short service and then depart down the mountain for breakfast.

Day 5 Eilat
We'll continue on to Eilat, which is known the world over as one of the best spots for snorkeling and scuba diving, and was the base for Solomon's navy and the last wilderness stop of Israel before heading north to the Promised Land. We arrive at the Israeli Red Sea resort town and our lodging for the evening. Time permitting, this evening following dinner you may want to visit the famous underground aquarium of Eilat (admission not included).

Day 6 Petra
This morning after visiting a model of the Tabernacle, we cross the border into Jordan and turn north to arrive in Petra. Begin the tour with a walk through the "Siq," an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone, to the city of Petra carved out of the rose red rock. The Treasury, El Khazneh, is one of the most elegant remains of antiquity. Beyond El Khazneh we are surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra's carved and built structures. We overnight in Petra.

Day 7 Mt Nebo, Mabada, Jerusalem
Mt. Nebo, believed to be the site of the tomb of Moses, commands a spectacular view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. The drive continues to the town of Madaba, the biblical Medeba, 30 kilometers south of Amman. Madaba is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George we may view the earliest surveying original map of the Holy land. We travel onto Allenby Bridge and cross back into Israel and drive to Jerusalem.

Day 8 Around Jerusalem, Jesus' Steps
Today we walk where Jesus walked. Begin the day with a panoramic view of the city, Mount Moriah and the Dome of the Rock from atop the Mount of Olives and then the Garden of Gethsemane. How many have wished to be whisked back in time to get a glimpse of our Lord or hear His voice if only for a moment. To walk between the ancient olive trees, read the scriptures of Jesus' prayer and take time for personal reflection is important here. Next, we enter the Old City through Stephen's Gate, and visit the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus cured a cripple. We move on to the Judgment Hall of Pilate, hear of those who conspired against Him and are reminded of His brutal beating and humiliation. While walking along the Via Dolorosa, we are reminded of His way of suffering, view the Church of the Sepulcher before we arrive at the climax of our tour - the Garden Tomb for an inspirational worship service that you will never forget! From here we will visit Mt. Zion where you will get to visit the Room of the Last Supper and the tomb of King David. On our way out of the city we will visit the Rabbinical Tunnels leading us through the Second Temple era.

Day 9 Jerusalem
Today we are free to explore Jerusalem at our leisure. Visit the market and bargain with the local vendors, visit a sight you have desired to see or just relax beside the pool reliving the sights seen and anticipating the sights to come.

Day 10 Jordan Valley, Beit-Shean, Yardenit
This morning we drive alongside the Jordan River Valley towards Jericho, viewing the oldest city on earth. We then turn northward to Beit-Shean/Scythopolis -- The most magnificent archeological site in Israel, located at the strategic juncture of the Jezreel and Jordan valleys. Like Jericho, it has been almost continuously occupied throughout history. After defeating Saul and his sons on Mt. Gilboa, the Philistines hanged their bodies on the walls of Beit-Shean. (1 Sam 31:10-12) During the intertestamental period, the city was renamed the "Scythopolis". Archaeologists have uncovered a huge number of ruins of the Roman/Byzantine Scythopolis. During the time of Jesus, Scythopolis was one of the chief cities of the Decapolis--a league of ten cities sharing Greek culture and government. We then arrive in the evening at Yardenit the Jordan River Baptismal site for a memorable service. .We will have dinner and overnight lodging for the next two nights in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 11 Dan,Caesarea Philippi, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum
Following breakfast, our morning travels take us to Dan and Caesarea Philippi, site of Peter's Confession. A relaxing cruise on the Sea of Galilee with easy viewing of the nearby Golan Heights brings to life the experiences of the fishermen disciples. In Capernaum we will visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue and Peter's home. Then we travel on to the site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes and the Mount of the Beatitudes overlooking the Sea where our guide will reenact Jesus' famous "Sermon on the Mount." We will also visit the ruins of ancient Capernaum. This evening we will take in the multi-media presentation of the "Galilee Experience," an entertaining, educational and enriching experience not to be missed.

Day 12 Caesarea, Cana, Nazareth
After breakfast we continue on to Cana and Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. Then we'll journey on to Mt. Carmel, where Elijah hid from King Ahab, and through the Jezreal Valley to Megiddo, where archaeologists have unearthed 20 levels of civilization. In the afternoon, we ravel along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, where Gentiles first heard the Good News from Peter and were baptized. See the Roman Amphitheatre and aqueduct before traveling south to our hotel for one night in the coastal area of Netanya.

Day 13 Depart from Tel Aviv for Home
We depart this land very early in the morning returning with a new light into the word of God and our relationship with Him.
