Day 1. Arrive
Delhi
On arrival traditional welcome and meeting assistance at the
airport. Transfer to hotel. In the evening witness Indian
tribal and classical dances.

Day 2. Delhi
Sightseeing of Old and New Delhi - Visit Jama Mosque, Red
Fort, Raj Ghat, Qutab Minar, India Gate, and drive past the grand
Government buildings.

Day 3. Delhi /
Udaipur
Fly to Udaipur - Venice of the East. Built in 1959 A.D. and
has been described as the most romantic place on the continent of
India by Col. James Todd in his annals.

Day 4. Udaipur
Sightseeing of Udaipur - including the City Palace - The
largest palace in Rajasthan and the Garden of the Maids of Honour
constructed in the early18th Century.

Day 5. Udaipur
/ Jaipur
Fly to Jaipur - The fabled :Pink city". Rest of day
at leisure.

Day 6. Jaipur
Morning excursion to 17th Century Amber Fort. Scenic
Elephant ride up the hill to the old palace. Later
sightseeing of Jaipur visiting the Astronomical observatory (Jantar
Mantar), City Palace and the lovely Hawa Mahal - the Palace of
Winds.

Day 7. Jaipur
/ Fatehpursikri / Agra
Drive to Agra en route visiting Fatehpur Sikir - erstwhile
capital city of the mighty Mughal Empire. On arrival
check-in at hotel. In the evening a lecture on Mughal
history.

Day 8. Agra
Sightseeing of Agra - Visit world's greatest monument of love
- Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort.

Day 9. Agra /
Khajuraho
Fly to Khajuraho. Later sightseeing of world famous
erotic Khajuraho temples - 85 carved and ornamented temples
celebrating life in all its phases, including depictions from the
erotic Karma Sutra. Optional visit to Ayurvedic Spa for a
herbal massage.

Day 10.
Khajuraho / Varanasi
Fly to Varanasi. Evening visit special prayer ceremony
with the lamps on the banks of River Ganges.

Day 11.
Varanasi
Early morning boat ride on river Ganges - Hundreds of devout
Hindus descend on the holy waters of Ganges for purification.
You see ancient Temples near the river, Pilgrims performing yoga
and be awed by the burning Ghats. Later leave for day return
excursion of Sarnath, the holy town where Lord Buddha delivered
his first sermon over 2000 years ago.

Day 12.
Varanasi / Kathmandu
Fly to Kathmandu - Ancient capital of Nepal, and the abode of
Gods. In the evening enjoy a performance of Nepalese folk
and tribal dances.

Day 13.
Kathmandu
Sightseeing of Kathmandu with its numerous bazaars and Royal
Palace. Also visit 2000 Years old Swambhunath Stupa and serveral
other monuments. Evening a lecture on the history and
traditions of Nepal.

Day 14.
Kathmandu / Pokhara
Drive or fly westwards to Pokhara - A beautiful valley
surrounded by hills, lakes, forests and rivers which also serves
as base for several Himalayan treks.

Day 15.
Pokhara
Take full day excursion around Pokhara lakes and Seti gorge
where the river flows underground for about a kilometre.

Day 16.
Pokhara / Kathmandu
Drive or fly back to Kathmandu. Rest of the day at
leisure.

Day 17.
Kathmandu / Delhi
Transfer to airport for flight to Delhi. In the evening
farewell dinner.

Day18. Depart
Delhi
Transfer to international airport for flight back home.
|
