Day 1 • Departure from USA Tonight we will board our flight to Rome. Day 2 • Arrival in Rome Upon arrival in Rome, we'll meet with our motorcoach and guide and have a panoramic tour of the city before going to the President Hotel or similar. The rest of the day is at our leisure. We will have dinner together at the hotel, our home throughout our stay here. Day 3 • Free Time to Explore Today is at leisure for you to explore on your on. It is the holiday of Epiphany, a major holiday in Italy and a bank holiday, which means all banks and some businesses are closed. Days 4 • 5 • 6 • Rome at Leisure If you are not taking any of the optional tours as listed, the next 3 days are at your leisure to explore Rome on your own and discover its hidden treasures at your own pace. Take a stroll along beautiful Via Condotti, walk along the magnificent Trevi Fountain and Navona Square, or visit the Villa Giulia National Museum or Rome's first cathedral, St. John Lateran. Have a dinner at one of Rome's famous restaurants. Day 7 • The Eternal City Our day begins with a visit to the Vatican and its breathtaking museum, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Square and Basilica with local English speaking guide. This afternoon is free to wander at the ancient ruins such as the Forum, Coliseum and the Arch of Constantine. After dinner at our hotel, there are many exciting things to see and do in Rome. Check out the activity at the Spanish Steps, where locals congregate to the sounds of strumming guitars and laughter. In the heart of the old city, Giolitti may be Rome's best place to enjoy great ice cream, with no fewer than seventy flavors on offer until 2am each morning. Day 8 • Homeward Bound Today we are transferred to the Rome Airport for our flight back to the U.S.
