Day 1: Departure
Relax on your overnight flight to Warsaw. Dinner and breakfast will be served aloft.
Day 2: Arrive in Warsaw
Upon our arrival in Warsaw we will be greeted by a Pilgrim Tour representative and enjoy a brief city tour of Warsaw to include a visit to
Chopin's Memorial Park and the Church of the Holy Cross before arriving at our hotel. The Hotel Marriott will be our home throughout our stay in Warsaw. We will have the remainder of the day as free time to relax, rest, and explore the historical city of Warsaw.
Day 3: Warsaw: Free Day
Today will be free for your leisure to explore Warsaw on your own.
Optional Tours: Day 4-7
The next 3 days will be free for you to enjoy on your own or possibly take
one of our optional tour programs.
Day 7: Warsaw: Free Day
Today will be our final full day in Warsaw. Take time to rest, shop, or explore any parts of Warsaw you haven't seen yet.
Day 8: Return to US
After breakfast, we will be transferred to the Warsaw airport for our return flight to the US.
Day 4: Zelazowa Wola
This morning after breakfast we will begin our full day guided tour of Zelazowa
Wola. Zelazowa Wola is a tiny village 53 Km to the west of Warsaw. It owes
its fame entirely to the composer Frederic Chopin who was born there in
1810. His birth place was renovated and furnished in the style of the
early 19th Century. It is now a museum which contains an exhibition on the
composer. The main attraction is Piano concert which we will enjoy at the end of our tour.
Day 5: Lodz
This morning after breakfast we will begin our full day guided tour of
Lodz. Lodz, situated 130 Km to the east of Warsaw, is still a young city
but encountering rapid industrial development. It has recently surpassed
much older towns and is now Poland's largest urban center after the
capital. Although there are no buildings older than 200 years, there is an
enormous selection of 19th century architecture including many examples of
art nouveau. We will take time to tour the Historical Museum of Lodz,
whish is located in the palace of the Poznanski family who were among the
wealthiest Jewish clans in the city. The most impressive feature of
the Palace is its spectacular dining hall. Visitors can enter the museum
of art which displays works by many contemporary artists including
Picasso, Chagall and Enrst.
Day 6: Czestochowa
This morning after breakfast we will begin our full day guided tour of
Czestochowa. Czestochowa represents the spiritual heart of Poland and the
country's national shrine. It owes its fame to the Black Madonna. This
religious icon has attracted pilgrims to the Jasna Gora Monastery for
centuries. Today, the site ranks 5th in the list of Pilgrimage sites after
Vranasi, Mecca, Lourdes and Rome. The painting of the Black Madonna
was presented to the Paulite order of monks in 1384. From then on the town
grew in fame until it attained its current status as one of the most
important Pilgrimage sites in the world. We will enjoy a guided tour of the the
Black Madonna (Jasna Gora Monastery). Time permitting we will enjoy visits to the
Church Of St. Barbara and The Jewish Ghetto before returning to Warsaw.
