Grand Hotel
(Oslo, Norway)
Right in the center of town on Karl Johans Gate, the Grand has been Oslo's premier hotel since it opened in 1874. Ibsen used to start his mornings with a brisk walk followed by a stiff drink at the Grand Café in the company of journalists. Munch was also a regular guest, and since his time the Grand has hosted many famous people and all recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize. Many Norwegians check in on Constitution Day, May 17, to have a room overlooking the parades. The lobby only hints at the style and flair of the rooms.
Rooms
289 double/single rooms, including 50 suites - 500 beds in total. All rooms are equipped with a TV, mini-bar, hair dryer, trouser press, and direct-dial telephones.
