There will be stops along the way to freshen up and take in this extraordinarily beautiful site. We begin sightseeing at St. Peter's Cathedral, where John Calvin taught the doctrine that made him famous throughout the Protestant faith. Other Reformation sites of interest include Calvin's Academy, the Reformation Monument and the Reformation Museum. We'll also take a walk by the Flower Clock and Gardens before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

The mountain village of Zermatt is one of the great ski and climbing centers of the world. Nestled in a deep valley enclosed between steeply scarped mountains, it is dominated by the huge and gracefully curved pyramid of the Matterhorn. From the moment you catch sight of the cobbled streets and horse drawn carriages pulling their patrons (this is an automobile free village), you know you are in a special place.

Day 5: Glacier Express
Board the Glacier Express train this morning and you will be able to see all the sights of the Swiss Alps through the large glass windows. This 7.5 hour ride will cross 291 bridges, go through 91 tunnels, and up and down many steep grades. Arrive in the resort town of St. Moritz late this afternoon.

We continue to the charming town of Oberammergau, site of our Passion Play tomorrow.

Day 8: Oberammergau Performance
Your morning is free to enjoy the delightful village of Oberammergau with outstanding opportunities for photos and shopping. Lunch is provided by the Oberammergau Committee. This afternoon and evening we enjoy the Passion Play production. The play depicts the story of Christ's Passion, beginning with the entry into Jerusalem and ending with the resurrection and transfiguration, a moving and spectacular experience. Each performance starts at 2:30 pm and ends approximately 10:30 pm, with a three-hour dinner break/intermission from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

Day 9: Salzburg
Our destination today is Salzburg, the Baroque city forever associated with both Mozart and the “Sound of Music.” A jewel in a perfect mountain setting on both banks of the Salzach River, the city and the surrounding countryside are dominated by the magnificent Festung Hohensalzburg, a 12th century fortress 500 feet above the town. We visit the birthplace of Mozart, now a museum; also the 17th century Residenzplatz, with its 40-foot high fountain; and the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter. The remainder of the day is free with many things to do and see such as attending a musical performance.

Day 10: Vienna
Travel from Salzburg to Vienna and begin our sightseeing with a visit to Hofburg Palace, residence of the Hapsburgs and home of the famous Spanish Riding School. We attend a morning training session of the beautiful and famous white Lippizaner horses. We then continue to Schonbrunn Palace to see the apartments occupied by emperor Franz -Josef. This afternoon we continue by viewing some of the most important sights of Vienna via a panoramic motorcoach tour: the Hofburg, former Imperial winter residence and scene of the Vienna Congress; the Ringstrasse, with its magnificent buildings such as the Opera House, National Museums, Parliament, the Burgtheater, the University and the Votive Church; St. Charles' Church, Vienna's most beautiful Baroque church; the Musikverein, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
