July 9: Flight
Take an overnight flight from the US.

 

July 10: Florence
Arrive in Florence and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a welcome
dinner tonight.

 

July 11: Pisa and Academy Gallery
This morning we travel through the Tuscan countryside to the city of Pisa to visit the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Learn the history of the tower and how it has taken its current shape. After some free time in Pisa return to Florence and take a tour of the Academy Gallery which is home of the David statue by Michelangelo.

 

July 12: Florence and Venice
This morning take a tour of downtown Florence to include the Piazza della Signoria, Duomo, and Bapistery. Florence is one of the greatest artistic capitals in the world and has a plethora of art galleries that you can visit on your own. It is also home of some great shopping opportunities and known for leather shops. This afternoon travel to Venice Mestre.

 

July 13: Venice
This morning travel to the islands of Venice by boat and take a guided tour of St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, the lavish Doges Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs. This afternoon visit a glass blowing factory on Murano Island.

 

July 14: Lake Como
Travel from Venice to the city of Como on Lake Como. There will be some free time for lunch on your own and then a cruise on the lake to see some of the attractive lakeside villas of the rich and famous.

 

July 15: Alps and Milan
Travel around Lake Como and into the Italian Alps. Return to the town of Colico at the northern edge of Lake Como. Enjoy some free time for lunch and to walk around this town. Visit Fort Fuentes which was built in the early 1600’s by the governor of Milan to defend from the Swiss and French. Only the ruins are standing today. Continue south from here to the city of Milan. You will have the option to visit the Santa Maria delle Grazie to view Leonardo da Vinci’s famous fresco of The Last Supper. The cost of this optional excursion is $40 per person.

 

July 16: Milan
This morning take a tour of the second largest city in Italy. Visit the Piazza del Duomo where you will see the Milan Cathedral, Royal Palace of Milan, and Vittorio Emanuelle II Gallery. We will also visit San Siro stadium which is the home of club soccer legends, AC Milan and Inter Milan. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight.


July 17: Home
Take a flight home from Milan.
