Ending the Pattern of Weaknesses in Your Family
Breaking the pattern of personal and family weakness
Living by Precept Rather than Experience – Our family should not need to experience the weakness and pain of sin and compromise that we may have experienced. Our prayer should be that our children and grandchildren have a more victorious life than we.
Exodus 34:7: Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. \
Numbers 14:18: The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation
Discussion: What are some of the family habits and weaknesses that we could pass on? Gossip, provoking your children to anger, deceitfulness, bitterness, pride, anger, lust, love for the world, disrespect for your wife or husband, disrespect for pastor or authority of any kind including our own parents, laziness, etc.
Be strong enough to ask for forgiveness from your children.
