Full-Day Tour - Avila & Segovia:
The city of Avila is completely encircled by 11th century walls and looks more like a great castle than a living city. It has Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces and a fortified Cathedral from the 12th century. The city was the birthplace of St Teresa de Jesus, the greatest mystic of the Catholic Church. We make a stop at Cerro de los Cuatro Postes to admire the views of the city and then visit the Cathedral and St Teresa's Convent. Then we depart towards Segovia and take some time for lunch. Segovia was a very important military city during the time of the Romans. The city was chosen by some of the Castilla's Kings as a summer residence and is preserved as a notable medieval center. We visit the Cathedral (the last gothic cathedral built in Spain) from the outside, Vera Cruz Church (closed on Mondays) and the Alcazar, a spectacular castle.

We will visit the Basilica, Royal Palace, Royal Pantheons, Infantes Pantheons and the Chapter Rooms. Finally we visit the Valley of the Fallen, located in a forest valley extending 13.6kms and 1350 meters above sea level. The 150m stone cross marks the height of the Basilica completing the monument.
