Day 1:
Depart for Warsaw
You leave this afternoon on an overnight flight to Warsaw, Poland's dynamic capital.
Day 2: Arrive in Warsaw
You're set for a memorable experience. Arrival in Warsaw and transfer to your hotel room at the Novotel Centrum. With an afternoon at leisure, you're free to stroll along the wide boulevards and green parks of the city. Meet the rest of the group at 6:00 PM in the lobby for the kick-off dinner with folklore show at local restaurant.

Day 3: Warsaw City Tour
Today you will see the special highlights of Warsaw: Old Town, the Ghetto memorial site, Lazienki Park and the Chopin monument. In the afternoon we visit the Royal Castle, former residence of Polish kings.

Day 4: Warsaw, Czestochowa, Krakow
The trip to Krakow, selected as a ''European Cultural Capital'' for the year 2000, leads us past Czestochowa, site of Jasna Gora. On your tour of the church and monastery, you will see the portrait of the Black Madonna, venerated as Poland's holiest icon.

Day 5: Wawel Castle, Wieliczka Salt Mine
Krakow has over 1,000 buildings and monuments of historical and architectural interest. Your tour includes Wawel Castle and its Gothic cathedral, Royal Chambers and striking Arras tapestries. In the afternoon, excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mine, an unforgettable 3-mile-long underground walk through chambers, caves, and chapels adorned with statues sculptured from salt.

Day 6: Zakopane, Tatra Mountains, Mt. Gubalowka
Off we go to Zakopane, a resort town high up in the scenic Tatra mountains, a great area for walking, hiking and resting. A cable car will take you to Mount Gubalowka for a thrilling panoramic view of the surrounding valley. You also have a chance to shop for local folk art. Overnight in Zakopane.

Day 7: Zakopane, Auschwitz, Wroclaw
En route to Wroclaw, we stop at Auschwitz, site of the infamous Nazi concentration camp, so chillingly evoked in the movie, Schindler's List. Lunch en route. Overnight in Wroclaw.

Day 8: Wroclaw, Rydzyna
Among the sites featured in this medieval city are the 13th century Town Hall, Gothic cathedral and the striking diorama which depicts the Battle of Raclawice. Afternoon departure for Rydzyna. Dinner tonight is a special treat: an outdoor kielbasa roast.

Day 9: Rydzyna, Poznan, Torun
A city both historic and modern, Poznan boasts an impressive Town Hall and numerous churches and palaces whose architecture runs from Gothic to Renaissance to the neoclassical – all of which you'll see on your morning tour. Late afternoon departure for Torun.

Day 10: Torun
Morning sightseeing of Torun, the charming medieval town so closely associated with the great astronomer Copernicus.
Overnight in Gdynia. (B,L)
Day 11: Gdynia
The harbor town of Gdynia is the youngest member of the of the ''tri-city complex'' of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia. Though the youngest, Gdynia is a major seaport with beautiful beaches. Nearby Sopot is an Old World resort with grand hotels, boardwalks, beaches and resort pleasures. Gdansk, the oldest of the three, is a magnificent restoration of a Hanseatic port city, with a stunning Town Hall, Neptune's Fountain, Gothic churches, romantic cobblestone alleys and breezy harbor promenades. You'll see them all and hear a recital of the world-famous organ in Oliwa on your tour today. In the afternoon you are free to relax seaside.

Day 12: Westerplatte
Today's excursion leads to Westerplatte where the first shots of World War II were fired, now a memorial to those who defended and liberated Gdansk. Afternoon is ''shop till you drop'' time – especially for amber, a great buy here.

Day 13: Vistula River, Malbork
Following the Vistula River, the road back to Warsaw leads us past Malbork, a mighty fortress and former seat of the once-powerful Teutonic Knights.

Day 14: Wilanow
Today we visit Wilanow, one of Poland's most treasured palaces, often hailed as the ''Polish Versailles.'' Set among stately English and French gardens, the palace is filled with treasures of the Italian, French and Polish Baroque. Your afternoon is free for last-minute souvenir hunting. Dinner at a the hotel.

Day 15: Depart Home from Warsaw
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight back home with new friends and pleasant memories.
