Day 1: International Flight to Rome
Board your overnight transatlantic flight.
Day 2: Arrival in Rome, Italy
The day is free to rest or to start exploring the splendid Italian capital. Later today join your
host for a welcome orientation.
Day 3: Rome
Sightseeing with your local guide starts with a visit to the COLOSSEUM to hear about gladiatorial combats. Then stroll along the Via Sacra in the ROMAN FORUM, where Roman Legions marched in triumph. Proceed along the Tiber and enter Vatican City where you visit the VATICAN MUSEUMS and SISTINE CHAPEL, world famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling paintings and The Last Judgement, ending at ST. PETER’S SQUARE and BASILICA. (BB)
Days 4 to 7: At Leisure in Rome
Four more days to savor la dolce vita and enjoy independent activities. Take a stroll along beautiful Via Condotti, discover Rome’s hidden treasures at your own pace. If you feel like traveling, join optional excursions to Pompeii, the Roman city both destroyed and preserved by a volcanic eruption in 79 A.D., the excavations of Rome’s antique harbor Ostia, or Frascati. Plenty of opportunities to try out local specialties at Rome’s famous restaurants.

Your homebound flight arrives the same day. (BB)
