DAY 1, ARRIVE VIENNA, SATURDAY You will be met
and transferred to your hotel. Plenty of time to relax before meeting
your fellow travelers and your Tour Director at the welcome dinner in
charming suburb of Neustift. (D,O)
DAY 2, IN VIENNA, SUNDAY A morning sightseeing tour features the Hofburg, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Belvedere Palace, views of Prater amusement park, UN buildings, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and other vivid reminders of the city's imperial history. (B,O) DAY 3, TO BUDAPEST, MONDAY Today we will travel east, and after crossing the border to Hungary, we will proceed onward through the region of Transdanubia, reaching Budapest on the time to relax before dinner. (B,D,O) DAY 4, IN BUDAPEST, TUESDAY Situated on the opposite banks of the Danube River, the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked by a series of graceful bridges. Our morning sightseeing tour includes all the main attractions: the Parliament, Royal Palace, Castle Hill area, Fisherman's Bastion, Coronation Church, Hero's Square and Gellert Hill. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore this exciting city on your own. (B,O) DAY 5 TO KRAKOW, WEDNESDAY The road to Krakow winds through the lovely hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras and into the great plains of Poland. A relaxing dinner in Krakow is planned upon the arrival. 420 km (B,D,O) DAY 6, IN KRAKOW, THURSDAY Wawel Castle, St. Mary's Church, the Renaissance Cloth Hall and other ancient landmarks are included in our morning city sightseeing tour. The afternoon is free for strolling around the city on your own or to take an optional excursion to the Salt Mines. (B,O) DAY 7, TO WARSAW, FRIDAY During the morning journey to Warsaw there is time for an optional side trip to one of the most somber memorials of our past, Auschwitz. After lunch break on your own, we proceed via Czestochowa, known for the blackened picture of St. Mary in the Yasna Gora Monastery, popularly called the "Black Madonna". We end our day in Poland's capital city, Warsaw. 400 km (B,D,O) DAY 8, IN WARSAW, SATURDAY There's a morning sightseeing tour encompassing Chopin's Monument, the Warsaw Ghetto, Lazienki Park and other landmarks. Use the balance of the day for shopping, or just stroll through the city that was almost destroyed during the Second World War. You can also partake in an optional late afternoon Chopin concert. (B,O) DAY 9, TO BERLIN, SUNDAY On the way to Berlin we stop in Poznan for an orientation tour, and then proceed to Berlin, today's final destination. 590 km (B,D,O) DAY 10, IN BERLIN, MONDAY Our morning sightseeing tour features the Reichstag, the Renaissance building that once housed Germany's Parliament, and the lovely Schloss Charlottenburg. The tour continues through the city to view the other famous sights such as the Opera, the Schiller Theater and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The afternoon is free to explore this once divided city on your own. (B,O) DAY 11, TO PRAGUE, TUESDAY In the morning we continue our journey via Dresden, a beautiful Baroque city. There will be a sightseeing tour upon arrival, featuring the Zwinger Palace, Semper Opera House and other important historic sites. Afterwards, we continue our journey to one of the most attractive cities in central Europe, Prague. 390 km (B,D,O) DAY 12, IN PRAGUE, WEDNESDAY A morning sightseeing tour takes us to the Royal Castle of Hradcany and into the old part the city to view the Jewish Ghetto, Wallenstein Garden and other sights of this captivating city. The balance of the day is at leisure or for an optional cultural performance. (B,O) DAY 13, DEPART PRAGUE, THURSDAY This morning you will be transferred to the airport to board your homebound flight.
