Day 1: Arrive Vienna (Saturday)
You will be met
and transferred to the your hotel. Plenty of time to relax before
meeting your fellow travelers and your Tour Director at the welcome
dinner in the charming suburb of Neustift. (D,O)
Day 2: Vienna (Sunday)
Our morning sightseeing tour
features the Hofburg, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire,
the Belvedere Palace, views of Prater amusement park, UN buildings,
St. Stephen's Cathedral and other vivid reminders of the city's
imperial history. (B,O)
Day 3: Budapest (Monday)
Today we will travel east, and
after crossing the border to Hungary, we will proceed onward through
the region of Transdanubia, reaching Budapest on the time to relax
before dinner. 285 km. (B,D,O)
Day 4: Budapest (Tuesday)
Situated on the opposite banks
of the Danube River, the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked by
a series of graceful bridges. Our morning sightseeing tour includes
all the main attractions: the Parliament, Royal Palace, Castle Hill
area, Fisherman's Bastion, Coronation Church, Hero's Square and
Gellert Hill. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore this
exciting city on your own. (B,O)
Day 5: Krakow (Wednesday)
The road to Krakow winds
through the lovely hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras
and into the great plains of Poland. A relaxing dinner in Krakow is
planned upon the arrival. 420 km (B,D,O)
Day 6: Krakow (Thursday)
Wawel Castle, St. Mary's Church,
the Renaissance Cloth Hall and other ancient landmarks are included in
our morning city sightseeing tour. The afternoon is free for strolling
around the city on your own or to take an optional excursion to the
Salt Mines. (B,O)
Day 7: Warsaw (Friday)
During the morning journey to
Warsaw there is time for an optional side trip to one of the most
somber memorials of our past, Auschwitz. After lunch break on your
own, we proceed via Czestochowa, known for the blackened picture of
St. Mary in the Yasna Gora Monastery, popularly called the "Black
Madonna". We end our day in Poland's capital city, Warsaw. 400 km (B,D,O)
Day 8: Warsaw (Saturday)
There's a morning sightseeing
tour encompassing Chopin's Monument, the Warsaw Ghetto, Lazienki Park
and other landmarks. Use the balance of the day for shopping, or just
stroll through the city that was almost destroyed during the Second
World War. You can also partake in an optional late afternoon Chopin

Day 9: Depart Warsaw (Sunday)
After breakfast, you will be
transferred to the airport by your local host to board your homebound
flight. (B)
