Day 1: Departure
Our tour begins with an overnight flight to Copenhagen.
Day 2: Arrive Copenhagen
Arrive Copenhagen Airport. Transfer to hotel in connection with
individual flight arrivals. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS
Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 3: Copenhagen
Today starts with a 3 hour guided tour of the city. Famous sights
include the Royal Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace, Gefion
Fountain, Nyhavn, and of course the famous Little Mermaid. In the
afternoon you are free to explore this fairytale city. In the
evening you will be taken to dinner at the Tivoli Gardens.
Accommodation at Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 4: Copenhagen - Oslo
You will have this morning free in Copenhagen. Possibility to
visit the Carlsberg Glyptothek or the popular pedestrian shopping
street - Stroget. Afternoon transfer by coach from hotel to DFDS Seaways terminal for your overnight
cruise to Oslo, departing at 5:00 pm. Enjoy your first Scandinavian
smörgåsbord dinner as you cruise gently up the Kattegat. Accommodations
in 2-berth outside cabins with shower/WC.
Day 5: Oslo
Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast as you cruise along the
enchanting Oslo Fjord. Arrival in Oslo at 9:00 this morning. Upon
arrival, you will have a guided tour of the Norwegian capital. You
will visit the world-famous Viking Ships, the Polar exploration ship
Fram, and the impressive Vigeland Sculpture Park. This afternoon's
excursion will take you to Holmenkollen for a birdseye view of the
city and fjord far below. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS
Scandinavia Hotel, a modern first class hotel centrally located
near the Royal Palace.
Day 6: Free Day in Oslo
Today you will have a free day in Oslo. The bustling Aker Brygge
Harbor, the Akershus Fortress, and other popular attractions are all
within walking distance of your hotel. Your tour escort will assist
you in planning your day. Dinner and accommodation at
Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 8: Oslo - Bergen
After breakfast depart from Oslo, driving to the mountain resort of
Geilo for a delicious buffet lunch at Bardøla Mountain Hotel. The
tour continues across the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau, stopping
at Fossli to admire Norway’s highest waterfall, Vøringsfoss, with a
vertical drop of 180 m. Descend to the lovely Hardanger Fjord then
take a short ferry crossing, before continuing via Voss and Dale to
Bergen, capital of Western Norway and gateway to the fjords. Dinner
and accommodation at Clarion Hotel Admiral, perfectly located overlooking
the old Bryggan Harbor in the heart of the city.
Day 8: Bergen
This morning you will have a guided tour of Bergen, including a
visit to the popular Fish & Flower Market, the ancient Maria Church,
Hanseatic Quarter, old Bryggen Harbour and other famous sights. You
will also experience a ride on the funicular railway to Mt. Fløien
for breathtaking views of the city and fjord far below. Afternoon
will be free in Bergen. Dinner
and accommodation at Clarion Hotel Admiral.
Day 9: Bergen - Balestrand
Today starts with a scenic tour along the idyllic Hardanger Fjord,
followed by breathtaking ascent of the famous Stalheim Canyon with
unforgettable views of the Nærøy Valley, its mountain peaks and
waterfalls. Buffet lunch will be on board one of our sightseeing
boats, followed by a fjord cruise from Gudvangen to Balestrand.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the narrow Nærøy Fjord, followed by
the majestic mountain slopes of the Sogn Fjord, also known as the
King of the Fjords. Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel,
beautifully situated overlooking the Sogn Fjord in a magnificent
mountain setting.
Day 10: Balestrand - Geiranger
Enjoy some spectacular views of the fjord and mountains as you
ascend the Gaular Mountain Road this morning. After driving
alongside lovely Lake Jølster, stop for lunch and have a close-up
view of the Jostedal Glacier. Next we will descend to the beautiful
Nord Fjord, then drive via Loen and Stryn to the picturesque village
of Hellesylt. One hour’s cruise by ferry along the unforgettable
Geiranger Fjord with its cascading waterfalls and narrow gorges.
Disembark in Geiranger. Dinner and accommodation at the famous Union
Hotel, an excellent hotel overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.
Day 11: Geiranger - Oslo
More magnificent scenery today, as your tour crosses first the
Grotli Mountains to Lom, then following Lake Vågå, descends the
remarkable Gudbrands Valley, reknowned for its old farmsteads and
beautiful river, to the world-famous town of Lillehammer. Stop
for lunch. After lunch time to visit the Olympia Park, before
continuing alongside Lake Mjøsa, to arrive back in Oslo during the
early evening. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS Scandinavia
Hotel.
Day 12: Oslo -
Home
A morning flight will bring us home by mid-afternoon.
