Day 1: USA to Oslo
We begin our journey to the beautiful country of Norway with an overnight flight from
the US.
Day 2: Arrival in Oslo
Upon our arrival at the Gardermoen Airport in Oslo we will be met by our Pilgrim Tour
representative and enjoy a private escort to our hotel, the Radisson SAS Scandinavian Hotel. The Radisson is centrally located close to Karl Johan Boulevard and the Royal Palace. We will enjoy a special welcome dinner this evening as a group.
Day 3: Oslo to Bergen
After our buffet breakfast we will enjoy a private transfer from Oslo to Bergen. We will have the opportunity to view the beautiful Tyri Fjord as we drive as well as the picturesque Halling Valley. We will stop in Geilo for a buffet lunch at Bardola Mountain Hotel before crossing the scenic Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli. Here we will stop to view the Voringsgoss Waterfall which is the highest in Norway and has a vertical drop of 180 meters. We will continue on to descend the amazing Mabodal Canyon to the idyllic Hardanger Fjord. Here we will cross by short ferry, followed by a drive via Voss and Dale ending in Bergen. Bergen is the old hanseatic capital of Western Norway and the main gateway to the Fjords of Norway. We will enjoy dinner and accommodations at the Clarion Hotel Admiral which is built over the water of the Bergen Harbor and offers guests a special maritime experience.
Day 4: Bergen
After breakfast our day starts with a 3 hour guided tour of Bergen. We will enjoy a visit to the famous Fish and Flower market, the old Bergen Harbor with its gabled pack houses, the popular Hanseatic Quarter and the ancient Maria Church. We will take a ride on the Bergen Funicular to Mt. Floien for a panoramic view of the city and fjords far below. Our afternoon will be free in Bergen to explore and shop on our own. We will meet this evening at our hotel for a special traditional dinner from Western Norway.
Day 5: Bergen to Balestrand
After a refreshing buffet breakfast, your coach will take you on a scenic tour alongside the Hardanger Fjord, via the towns of Norheimsund and Øystese, to Voss. Breathtaking ascent of the Stalheim Canyon, with impressive views of the Nærøy Valley, its mountain peaks and waterfalls. Short drive to Gudvangen at the head of the narrow Nærøy Fjord, where you go on board one of Robinson Scandinavia's own sightseeing boats for a 2 hour cruise along the narrow Nærøy and Aurlands Fjords to Flåm. From the sun deck you can relax and enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery, waterfalls and wildlife of the fjords. Buffet lunch will be served on board during the cruise. From Flåm continue by coach over the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes, followed by short ferry crossing to Balestrand, considered the most scenic resort on the Sogn Fjord. Dinner and accommodation at the magnificent Kvikne's Hotel, exceptionally well located in large private grounds on the banks of the fjord.
Day 6: Balestrand to Geiranger
After breakfast departure from your hotel by ferry, for a one hour's cruise along the fjord to Fjærland. Continue by coach along the scenic route, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei. Descend to the beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best of views. Afterwards a typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier. During the afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn, to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. From here you go on board the ferry for the one hour's cruise along the spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters. Dinner and accommodation at the excellent Union Hotel, overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.
Day 7: Geiranger to Oslo
From the top of the famous Serpentine Road, you have the opportunity to digest some fantastic views of the fjord, before crossing the exciting Grotli Mountains to Lom, renowned for its well preserved 14th century stave church. The tour continues via Lake Vågå, before descending the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to the popular tourist town of Lillehammer. Stop for lunch. Visit the famous Olympia Park with panoramic views of the town, before continuing the journey alongside Lake Mjøsa back to Oslo. Dinner and accommodation at Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
Day 8: Oslo to USA
After breakfast we will enjoy a private transfer from our hotel to the Oslo airport for our return flight to the USA. Meals and movies will be enjoyed in flight.
